When all is said and done and BTBAM call it a career, The Great Misdirect will be recognized as the CD where they finally put it all together. Don't get me wrong, Silent Circus, Alaska, Colors, these are all great CD's. But they have taken their music to the next level with this masterpiece. This is one of the best metal albums of all time and to me, the benchmark by which all other progressive bands will be evaluated.
@Sp00ny1985 Its amazing that alot of bands have tried and there older men or women. But these guys are YOUNG and some how Literally perfected Progressive metal
@ElectricTurkey1 Well, that doesn't really surprise me as it is dully noted that BTBAM sounds extremely similar to Dream Theater (with faster guitars).
Beautiful... honestly an authentic piece of superb musicianship... not just any band can create this... you have to know BTBAM is absolutely one of a kind and that they are simply amazing.
TexasTemari, thank you for the best insight that i also believe!! i also feel the same way! Best band in the world hands motherfucking down, besides iron maiden lol :P
Turn on the volume till your boxes are about to explode and than shout as loud as you can with this ending! Man there really something! I discoverd them just few weeks ago, and there AMAZING
Just when I thought that they couldn't get any better, and that they had completely shaped their style. They release this, a truly phenomenal accomplishment. This song shows their ability to truly transcend the modern barriers of a genre. Between the Buried and Me are seriously awesome.
Got to see them play this song and Disease, Injury, Madness tonight in Austin. 3rd time seeing them and this was the best concert i've ever seen in my life. Was right in the front of the stage, just amazing getting to interact with the guys. The songs from the new album sounded simply amazing live. Great crowd, best band ever imo.
I can't believe how amazingly perfect this album is, and especially this song. I've never had extremely hardcore chills for two minutes without it fading whatsoever until i heard this song.
i feel that this shouldve been the ending of the album, i mean this ending is beyond epic, itll blow your mind away into space with a double barreled shotgun of awesomeness, dont get me wrong, swim to the moon is fucking amazing! but this ending words cannot begin to fathom the depth of emotion this ending has.
I think they really show their roots by ending the album the way they do. Dream Theater all the way. This album at more than a few points feels almost like a tribute to dream theater. I agree though, this song is great and epic.
i thought colors couldnt be topped. i was proved horribly wrong. one of the few awesome bands left in the world. MAN they are perfect. everyone in it is more talented than anyone in any band that i can think of. they just....blow my mind
This song (especially this part) put me in an all new state of euphoria. I was so excited about this album coming out and it well exceeded my expectations. Thank you BTBAM for sharing this with the world :D
@drow809 sadly true :(, we live in a sad, saad age where people dont care about the music, you just have to look good. soo while fuckin justin bieber is busy fucking with his gay hair, true geniuses like btbam are breaking their backs trying to write songs. these guys are too awesome to be left un-noticed by like 95% of the world
@emericashoes Dude I swear I don't know where all you people live that post on these videos but I don't know anyone who enjoys this kind of music like I do where I live. This is music and I wish more of my friends could see it like I see it.
@nickfromdtown1992 haha I only assume you mean denton, tx. Probably a lot more open people over there. I am from Georgia and it is pretty rare to find people that listen to metal in general much less Between the Buried and Me type metal. Anyway maybe I can open up some minds.
@Bostan606 yeah dude for sure. i love exchanging music with people i completely cnat relate with musically. it makes us 1. better listeners and 2. better musicians. and yes i do mean denton tx :)
@Bostan606 man i know like 3 or 4 people that listen to metal as religiously as i do, youre not alone. Everyone around here listens to fucking Kesha, its like that everywhere. Most of the population listens to the radio, enough said.
@mareko11 So true. thats what "Ad a dglgmut" is about. One thing i love about BTBAM Is that they are unique... they dont play pop. music u hear on the radio every day. They also arent just a metal band, they play progressive music which is basically the genre changes as the song progresses, which is why i never get bored of them because they have so many different kinds of music - crap im running out of space ill post a separate comment
@ChrisHoffmannStudios Although I agree with you, that's not what progressive music is. Here's an article on progressive rock: answers.com/topic/progressive-rock
@mareko11 as i was saying... - Also @killcam122 is right. Justin beiber, lady gaga, kesha, other pop music writers. dont write music because they love music. You can tell that BTBAM does because their music isnt what everyone likes. They dont try and write what they know people will love or recreate the popular songs on the radio. They honestly dont care about money or anything, they write music that they like and thats why they are so unique.
my favorite part starts about 8:30, Tommy"s voice is amazing, it's almost hyponotical.
