That filter will let dirt past and sand blast your engine....if you drove through a huge cloud of road work dust...expect your engine to make weird noises... you can get more power if you properly work on the engine, but then again its only a 1.2, when you can afford it, then buy a powerhouse, until then your stuck with this lump

The thing you have is 13times smaller in surface area than the paper element. So the holes are some 13+ times bigger meaning NO FILTRATION. Big bits of dirt sandblasting your engine and ruining it! The car has MORE BHP with the paper filter & housing. Noise doesn't mean power, just you being ripped off!!!!!

Most cars see the biggest gains by removing the filter altogether, we do it on rolling road tests to see just how much power the stock air intake is sapping, we gained nearly 8bhp on a 1.4 206 by removing the filter altogether. Putting a less restrictive filter on will ALWAYS make a difference.

LOL 1.2 8v Ph3 Clios have 60HP I doubt you'd have achieved a 5HP increase. If you're a technician then you'd know that when the engines cold the oil is not at operating temperature there for not protecting the engine fully.

How old is your clio beacuse mines p reg (1996) and is a 1.2 i ( The I is for Electronic fuel injection) which the clio 1 phase 3's and onward have, but at the end of the day an induction kit is basicly a very high airflow air filter so it doesnt matter what engine you have, Even works on diesels!

Well it should be fine, where you buying it from, if your not sure contact the company, but from my many years of motoring, an air filter is an air filter m8!
it dosent matter if its injection or not it will work i have a 01 1.2 clio and the pipercross induction kit was made for a 1.4 saxo it is the same as long as u get a conection pipe that will fit in between it , it will work
Yes but i let the engine idle for 3 mins before hand so all the oil had got around, the engine temps dont matter as long as you give at least 60 seconds before extreme reving you wont damage anything, trust me im a technician! :) I work On all sorts of cars and have never seen any damage to a engine by cold revving!
The oil may be circulated around the engine, but that dosnt mean the oils warmed up. anyone with any mechanical sympathy would wait for the oil and water to be up to temp before booting it.

The cat has nothing to do with the induction...but will increase bhp if you've got a sports cat or decat though. but still, just because the cat is still there doesn't mean an induction kit won't increase bhp.

first of all nice trainer you got there, second of all its called the rev limiter its there so u dont blow the engine up. if u had just unclipped the air box you would have got the same noise for free
Lol thanks about the Trainer but its actualy a pair of steal toecap boots, and yeah i have unclipped the cold air feed and yes you do get the same sound but with an induction kit you get 4 to 5.5 BHP gain.

I used to have one of these things with the D7-F lump. They're 60bhp stock, +20bhp simply wont ha0ppen from an air cleaner, 2-3bhp tops lol. Go to the scrappy and get urself a new dash for it, best mod i did to mine. Gave me a temp gauge and rev counter. muhahaha. my engine was starting to knock by the time i sold it, i gave that thing some abuse

Well i have a Sports Cat which does the same as a decat BUT also keeps emmisons down so it will pass its mot. Sports cat gives between 5/7 BHP gain

the 1.9 Diesel has 65
the 1.4 8 valve has 75
the 1.6 16v has 110
the 1.8 8 valve rsi has 110
and the 1.8 16v has 137
