has anyone else ever forgetten to talk to the selkath dad in the cantina on manaan before entering the sith base and then getting stuck because you cant do anything else but go outside and get executed?? I had to restart the entire game, nearly killed someone. but i endured, because kotor is worth it

Um. You can go back to the base - just via another exit, from the hangers - there is a spaceship waiting to take you to the Sith Base.

I too love this music. And I love how you break into the sith bases on Taris and Manaan. The sith bases are one of my favourite locations in KotOR. That's a thing KotOR 2 lacks, the wonderful sith bases.
