I'm 26 now, 27 this october (2011), and this brings me back to when I was 14 in 98, depressed and lost as fuck in my life, hating my stepfather and I had terrible fucking acne. For me those days were raw as fuck, dark, and the energy from that time was buzzing. now I'm in a decade thats so fucking dumbed down, numb and soul-less.
@CircleofShit yeah... but to tell the truth things are a lot darker now for me than they were back then... I find myself going back to Nirvana very often these days
@rmmartins133 Scary because, I'm guessing, that your personal progression in life has come to a stand still somewhat, well, actually, thats how I feel. totally fucking lost in this shitty world now. Anything is possible in your future, just remember that. Kurt Cobain came from a shitty logging town with the odds stacked against him. Look how far he went :)
@MirLjudima I care, coz I like their music even tough Kurt had an argue with Axl, the best band it will always be NIrvana, bu as for the music I like many of GNR songs (:

If Kurt was still alive, he would have ended up leaving Nirvana, written a book, and tour doing small acoustic gigs in hole in the wall bars and pubs, kinda like Aaron Lewis from staind, minus the big lavish casino shows, and Fred Durst.
we arent waiting for a music revolution. We are waiting for music that is actually real creative and honest work. An artist with balls enough to stand up to a record producer. People are experimenting with music all the time. But producing that kind of music is a major risk. Its hard when the tv tells people what to like. One day we will see someone with soul break through once again. Someone deep minded with music from the heart. Someone like Kurt Cobain or Jim morrison.
@newrealization12 maynard james keenan, king crimson, gentle giant, any krautrock artist, a tribe called quest, porcupine tree and the flying eyes were the first artists that came to my mind when i read that, there are many more than what you think :)
Guilty rock pleasure? Guns 'N' Roses. It's loud, it's catchy, it's hard. Great for parties. Want to hear some music with pain and soul and humanity behind it? Get some Nirvana. It's cynical, intelligent, biting, bitching, angsty, brilliant music.
im still thinking if it was axl rose who killed himself the world wouldnt be so screwed up or if when kurt had a fight with him kurt kicked his freakin ass instead of it being broken up...
Kurt shoulda NEVER opened In Utero with this track...one of the weakest on the entire record. He should gone for broke outta the gates. 1st tune off the record IMHO : Scentless Apprentice. @RideMyBMW Dude ur offially the gayest person ever. ur still fuckin talkin about the tracklist ???? WOW ........u need a fuckin life dude. thats scary.
@sixfeetontop I got a life, its called NIr-fu%$in-vana. Greatest fu%$in band ever. BTW, here's my own "In Utero" tracklist in case you didn't know : 1) Scentless Apprentice 2)Very Ape 3) RFUS 4)Milk It 5)Tourette's 6)Frances Farmer 7)Wake me 8)You Know You're Right This is the original tracklisting as Kurt intended it , taken from the Jack Endino sessions in Seattle, not the Pachyderm Sessions with Steve Albini. Give it a listen, it'll blow you away.Guaranteed.
@RideMyBMW so dude u obviously just started listening to them cus ur treating this album like it just came out or somethin. dude ive been listening to tis shit since fuckin 7th grade. and u still need some serious help man ur fuckin still hung up on this tracklist . what fuckin planet am i on????

For whatever reason, I don't have a copy of In Utero, so I've been listening to it again on youtube, and it is definitely one of the best rock albums ever.
Great music. I'll miss grunge. Ah, the 90's. Nirvana, Soundgarden, Alice In Chains, and some more. Can't you just hear the music that annoys your parents in the air?
"In Utero" is Nirvana 3rd masterpiece album. All their albums are masterpieces. Only Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, and Pink Floyd in the history of rock can say the same thing.
@RebelThoughts true, although (you rock purists may yell at me for this) I have to say that Radiohead and Nine Inch Nails come very close to that mark, and Brand New had 3 masterpieces in a row: Deja Entendu, The Devil and God are Raging Inside Me, and Daisy, which to me is like the modern-day In Utero
How you can even consider guns and roses to be comparable to nirvana is beyond me. Guns and roses to me was the last band that tried to make the untalented, novelty, big hair thing work, that music is garbage and everyone knows it. Nirvana kicked big hair bands fucking asses, they buried what is considered to be the worst chapter in rock history. Nirvana is the anti guns and roses. RIP Kurt.
@Pinkerton9004 You have it all wrong. Grunge and GNR helped end hair bands. Some members may have had the hair but they were not one of those bands. Guns and Roses did not play like those bands and created their own sound, how they thought rock should be played.
@lamecow21 what the hell are u talking about, shut in. they were completly un-original and gay. i agree w/ Alex6544onPS3, axel rose was a total homo prick. and yes they were that kind of band. plus my theory is, axel rose didnt pick the fight cuz of kurt talkin shit, he did cuz kurt refused to take it in the ass for him
@Pinkerton9004 fuck off you cunt , yeah nirvana are like fucking amazing but so are guns n roses you nobhead , its a completely different era and genre so shut the fuck up , guns n roses where a whole new band and where individually and many people loved them , which i can say the same about nirvana
@Pinkerton9004 First of all Guns N' Roses aren't a hair metal band, they're a rock and roll band or a hard rock band. You can't say that GN'R are the same as say Poison or Warrant. Guns were a real band and didn't just make music to fit in like Poison or Warrant did. They were original, and were the last great rock band ever and you can't tell me that Slash isn't a talented guitarist or Axl can't sing whether you like it or not Guns were a very influential and important rock band
@slashsappetite1965 yeah, and frank zappa was strait. open yur eyes. gnr were un original and suk. i have a gnr poster in my room but its only because of slash. he made that band. an was the only good outcome from them
@Pinkerton9004 and also if Nirvana are the anti Guns N' Roses and are against them Guns aren't that different from Aerosmith who influenced Nirvana and even Joe Perry has said that Guns when they first came out reminded him of Aerosmith back in the day i don't know why alot of Nirvana fans hate Guns just cause Kurt Cobain did when alot of Guns fans and Axl Rose actually like both bands both GN'R and Nirvana were very influential in their own way
@Pinkerton9004 Disagree. Guns N' Roses and Nirvana were both talented bunches, their music styles just were different. You don't have to like to GNR and GNR fans don't have to like Nirvana, but denying either ones talent is ignorant and stupid.
@Weraisethenerdyflag Yes, they really hated themselves. Still, it's worthless to waste time spamming something like "GNR sucks", "Nirvana sucks". Fuck, if you don't like some band, go listen to your own favourite and leave the other one alone. Both of the bands made some really classic songs, played amazing gigs and changed the history of rock music and that can't be changed.
@GoodGuitarSolos I wouldn't say GNR changed the history of rock music, But there will always be arguments always. Nothing will change that. no matter how stupid they are.
@Weraisethenerdyflag They offered really fresh change among the various copycat bands during the glam metal-era and made great classic songs, riffs and ideas. Glam metal did have some awesome bands but soon it went over, same happened eventually with grunge...
Yes, that's true and it's sad. I can't understand why rock fans keep arguing about their favourite bands. If you don't like something, you don't have to go into shoutbox and spam "GNR sucks" or "Nirvana sucks". It's stupid.
@GoodGuitarSolos yes is it stupid, But i suppose people are just extremely pissed that Grunge is gone and the likely hood of it coming back isnt good at all.
i suppose a grunge inspired band might come around. But there isn't enough people to support it like before.
Sadly grunge can't come back. It was an amazing, creative era but everything good will fade away in time. Luckily, we have their music. I hope some new music revolution comes soon, music has been repeating itself for sometime... :/
Before I heard this album, I really hated Nirvana, but this really changed my mind. The band put forth some artistic merit with this one. It goes back more to the punk roots and with some noise and experimentation, I like that.
On the In Utero disk there's a picture of what appears to be a guy in drag in women's undies. Anyone know if there's a story on this? Or did they just like the image?
yes that was a nanny for Francis I believe. He dressed up in drag for the album photo shoot I believe is the tale. It has been ages. I always loved the pink cd with the man in drag.

Darbster98 1 year ago
not really true, Axel i heard was like an idol. During the prime of GNR all the members were probably fairly well known.
slash is just the only one that is still very well known.

@Pinkerton9004 and also if Nirvana are the anti Guns N' Roses and are against them Guns aren't that different from Aerosmith who influenced Nirvana and even Joe Perry has said that Guns when they first came out reminded him of Aerosmith back in the day i don't know why alot of Nirvana fans hate Guns just cause Kurt Cobain did when alot of Guns fans and Axl Rose actually like both bands both GN'R and Nirvana were very influential in their own way
slashsappetite1965 1 year ago
@Pinkerton9004 Disagree. Guns N' Roses and Nirvana were both talented bunches, their music styles just were different. You don't have to like to GNR and GNR fans don't have to like Nirvana, but denying either ones talent is ignorant and stupid.

@GoodGuitarSolos oh come on
im pretty sure axel rose and kurt cobain hated each other
i do like gnr somewhat though
Weraisethenerdyflag 1 year ago
@Weraisethenerdyflag Yes, they really hated themselves. Still, it's worthless to waste time spamming something like "GNR sucks", "Nirvana sucks". Fuck, if you don't like some band, go listen to your own favourite and leave the other one alone. Both of the bands made some really classic songs, played amazing gigs and changed the history of rock music and that can't be changed.
GoodGuitarSolos 1 year ago 3
@GoodGuitarSolos I wouldn't say GNR changed the history of rock music, But there will always be arguments always. Nothing will change that. no matter how stupid they are.
Weraisethenerdyflag 1 year ago
@Weraisethenerdyflag They offered really fresh change among the various copycat bands during the glam metal-era and made great classic songs, riffs and ideas. Glam metal did have some awesome bands but soon it went over, same happened eventually with grunge...
Yes, that's true and it's sad. I can't understand why rock fans keep arguing about their favourite bands. If you don't like something, you don't have to go into shoutbox and spam "GNR sucks" or "Nirvana sucks". It's stupid.
GoodGuitarSolos 1 year ago 2
@GoodGuitarSolos yes is it stupid, But i suppose people are just extremely pissed that Grunge is gone and the likely hood of it coming back isnt good at all.
i suppose a grunge inspired band might come around. But there isn't enough people to support it like before.
Weraisethenerdyflag 1 year ago
@Weraisethenerdyflag Yes, I think that's one of the reasons...
Sadly grunge can't come back. It was an amazing, creative era but everything good will fade away in time. Luckily, we have their music. I hope some new music revolution comes soon, music has been repeating itself for sometime... :/

@GoodGuitarSolos Lol? Is freedom of speech not appreciated before? Go ahead, let the trolls troll. You can't have a perfect world.

"Teenage angst has paid off well, now I'm bored and old."
Great opening lyrics to a follow up to one of the most successful rock albums of all time. This song is cool.

Before I heard this album, I really hated Nirvana, but this really changed my mind. The band put forth some artistic merit with this one. It goes back more to the punk roots and with some noise and experimentation, I like that.
Thelaofkazi 2 years ago 9
On the In Utero disk there's a picture of what appears to be a guy in drag in women's undies. Anyone know if there's a story on this? Or did they just like the image?
KonradAdenauer 2 years ago
yes that was a nanny for Francis I believe. He dressed up in drag for the album photo shoot I believe is the tale. It has been ages. I always loved the pink cd with the man in drag.
Ihuffglue91 2 years ago 2
Yeah hes right, Kurt paid one of France's nannys to dress in drag for the photo. XD
