the reason that people break the spagetti in half so the pasta cooks evenly unless your pot is tall enough to cover all the pasta.

you don't need to break it. just let it warm up and become pliable. It only takes maybe a minute for that to happen. :)

oh man, You really need to come eat over here. You can do some really nice things other than adding a little salt to the water. Take the pan you made the sauce dump it add water and add a whole onion cut into 4ths add pepper your water you cook the pasta in should resemble the pan sitting in the sink before you clean it and it's soaking, no soap of course. and seawater? I really think its a matter of the boiling point. also youll want to add butter or oil that just sits on the surface.

This woman speaks evil!!!! Breaking the spaghetti is quite convenient, oh yes... I personnaly think it's sacrilege (LOL), but spaghetti taste way better when they're kept whole. You have to "bend" the pasta into the boiling water with your hands or a wooden spatula if you're afraid to burn yourself. Try it out! :D
