@flubno ash catchers catch ash to keep the bong cleaner, some have percs in them that will filter the smoke and the rest of its all to filter the smoke, make it a cleaner hit

Its to separeate the smoke more efficiantly, you want this so more smoke surface area contacts the water. This filters and cools the smoke more efficiantly' giving you a better more pleasent hit.
