This was a great show which I grew up with from grade 8-12 which was the entire run of seasons this show had! It was real, gritty and through s**t in my face that I never knew before. Can honestly say it had a big impact on me as a writer and person and the theme song rocked! :D

Just like they say "the Good die young" Well the good shows always get canceled to early. Its so many shows that I loved in the 90's and around in the early 2000's that were good shows and had good ratings and even though they were fiction they were relatable. And for whatever reason they get canceled. While these non relatable fantasy shows that have no class stay on the air. Just face it we live in a dumb down society. So sad the next generation knows nothing about good quality tv shows.

I loved Boston Public, it was the most smartest and intelligent show D.E.K created, and it was the most intelligent show during its brief run. You always learned something new about contemporary society, while getting entertained!

A truly marvellous show it was!

Shame it was so unappreciated and mistreated, it never got the chance it deserved. But I loved it!!

@codename617 NBC was suppose to roll out a new series with the writer of Boston Legal and I meant to say Boston Public, both both shows were written by David E. Kelley as I'm sure all Boston Public fans are aware as Chi McBride as Steven Harper got sued by James Spader as Allen Shore after Boston Public was cancelled. Anyway, NBC was happy to make another remake of trite Law and Order with LA but didn't see fit to release Harrys Law. So maybe contact your NBC affiliates and find out whats up.

What a great show and what great characters! Who could ever forget originals like Harvey Lipschultz, Steven Harper, Scott Guber and Harry Senate. Watching the show for me was like being part of a real family. Unfortunately there are no DVD editions of this intelligent series. Or does anyone know about DVDs?

The biggest mistake DEK ever made was making Jerri Ryan the main focus of the show. She was by far the worst actress on the show, amd who gave a damn about her legal career? There were entire episodes devoted to that! I think Scott Guber is my favorite TV character of all time...Anthony Heald nailed that role.

The first three scenes i am very well aware of. The Red Line on the Charles river, the Green line on Comm. Ave, and the later i believe is East Bosotn High. I believe that is where they shot for the outside shots between scenes.

@codename617 It's not so much that the people want to watch Gossip Girl and shit like that. Those shows, while poor, at least they're shows. The highest rated programs are often dumb reality shit like American Idol, which really goes to show the general intelligence level of the population if they're passing up stuff like Boston Public or Boston Legal to watch mindless crap like that. I despair for the human race.

@codename617 I'm sure Boston Public fans noticed that the show turned to shit after the first two seasons, and that is because the shows creator stopped writing after those to seasons although I know he did come back to write an episode about a midget in a locker selling test answers. Sadly I missed that episode because Boston Legal lost its edge and became a typical crap TV show. Same thing happened to Picket Fences and Chicago hope. Same thing with Arron Sorkin and West Wing.

This was an amazing show...I used to watch it every chance I got. The theme is fantastic! David E. Kelly is a marvel of a Creator/Writer/Director. Take PICKET FENCES, ALLY MCBEAL, THE PRACTICE, BOSTON PUBLIC or BOSTON LEGAL for instance...all of his shows are just brilliantly concepted & executed!
