I heard you can get a tailwheel conversion for a 182 in the USA for about $10,000 - is this true?

Im not sure about that? Sounds fairly cheap. Who does them? I was planning on doing it myself and buying the STC.

@soseg Lots of reasons,but mainly because they're a heck of a lot stronger than a nose gear.

@adonai2540 And, not to mention, that when bush flying its always good to keep your prop high off the ground. A tailwheel is the only way to do this. Great videos by the way!

Well Its got the tailwheel in the front for a couple reasons. This is our home base in the video and the runway runs north south. we have strong crosswinds every day from the east. But the biggest reason is probably that these 182s are at least half the price of a compareble 180 or 185.
