Can't thank you enough for making this a reality for me. For anyone considering buying one, I highly recommend it. Bink's work is very good quality, and he responds to questions and issues promptly. Been using mine for two weeks and couldn't be happier. Only down sides are minor- those you'd find using any Bluetooth speakerphone. Definitely the new star of my collection!
If you can upload ring-tones to your Cell and they are supported through Bluetooth than yes, you can use the TOS two beep hale with the BT Comm. I've had quite a few guys that have purchased them inform me that they did it and it worked great.
@Bluetoothcommunicato Hi enjoyed watching your showcase. I also dabble with STC, Please if you have time, check out my You tube page. I would value your feedback Just follow my link below. (Plutobrandy1) Star Trek communicator Cellphone upgraded 2012. I have a 4 part showcase of a prject i have been working with. I have also found a novel way to keep the spining morai effect in a bluetooth STC i have also been working on. Thanks and hope to here from you soon.
This is a great video ... I'm just wondering how much you had to bribe your No. 1 for to participate..... ;) :D Glad you're still doing these, with the DST comms going down the toilet in quality, your versions should continue to be a great commodity for the dedicated Trekkie.
No, you have to carry one cell and then link the Communicator to it via Bluetooth, just like a Bluetooth headset. It also has voice command so you can leave your phone in your pocket and send and receive calls using the Communicator.
In this instance by short pressing - or quickly pressing the button on the back (which is the Multi-Function-Button) it dials the last number called on the cell phone. If your phone has Voice Command you can simply press the button on the back once and it will initiate voice command on the Communicator. The cell I was using in the video does not have the Voice Command feature, my new one does and I use it all the time, freaked out quite a few people at the last convention in Vegas!
Mate i just saw your vid..... I am well impressed.. That must have taken several hours to manufacture and to get the whole thing working... From one trekker to another you are a god!! Your SO gonna have to tell me how ya did it just so i can wind my mate up with it lol.. Excellent work A+++
Thanks! It was quite an endeavor to make the first few, but now have it pretty much down. Sold about 30 of em so far and freaked quite a few people out at the last convention in Vegas! No one had ever seen an actual working Communicator before, especially one that accepted Voice command!
Just click on my user name and once you've been directed to that page simply click on the Send Message link. Your also welcome to contact me at bink77 which is at aol-dot-com!
And yes, I can make it with the STTE Comm, that is what you see in this video!
Awsome my friend did a great job but ummm TOS was the 23rd Century, TNG was 24 Century it can be a bit confusing lol heck I forget what century we are in lol. Awsome job my friend!!
Hi and thanks! I know TOS was 23'rd Century... I made this vid in one take and I think I had just watched an episode of TNG, so I had 24th Century stuck in my head:^
this communicator RULES! I just bought one and it is the absolute coolest thing ever! I paired it up with my iPhone very easily and blow my friends' minds when I get a call and pull out my communicator, flip it open and it works!!
I enthusiastically recommend this to any Trek fan...
Hi. Yes, I already have modified one of the new Art Asylum Comms! In fact. Much better Chirp on this version, but the PCB is much more difficult to hack, and the AA has only two buttons were I need three, so I had to add one on the side. Should be taking orders next week!
i have follow-up question. i prefer paramount communicator model from ST experience over art asylum. is that available? please contact me. thanks, keith
Yes, I have just a few more of the STTE Comms left for conversion. A little more expensive, abd the chirp is not nearly as good. BTW, the one in the video IS from the Experiance!
I've been working on the grill opening chirps, this is the way the Comm's come to me before I modify them for the BT Electronics, so there wasn't much I could do about it. I've been working on a replacement chip that should remedy it however.
You have a cool No. 1. :-)

Is there any way for the sound to be the chirping, rather than the sounds you currently have?
