They took a huge risk trying to play a Queen medley. One Queen song is hard enough to do, let alone three! Points given for bravery, definitely!

I thought Killer Queen's transition into Bohemian Rhapsody was really awesome, but Bohemian Rhapsody itself sounded really empty to me. Maybe everyone singing either the harmony or the melody was not really a smart move, given the people they had they could have filled a lot more space in the song. But Somebody to L-ve was WICKED!

As Shawn said in his critique, these original arrangements are extremely difficult, and the sheer complexity of their song choice was really risk enough. If they tried to arrange it differently, I believe they would have done themselves a disservice.

They sounded great, but I was disappointed. I think "You can't go wrong with Queen" and "They had Queen on their side" nailed it. The fact is the Aires played it safe; many, many acapella groups have done these songs and done them just as well. The Aires took the easy way out in this one, picking an arrangement that required almost no imagination. Take some risks, guys!

I loved this. But you really can't go wrong with Queen. Their execution was note perfect, and I give them props for that. But I must add that they didn't have to flex much muscle in creative arrangement because it was already done for them with spectacularly-written songs. This officially took my vote for best performance from North Shore's Lazy Song. And I absolutely loved North Shore. I've played their performances dozens of times and it never gets old. But the Aires just blew me away. That was absolutely amazing. The range, the choreography, the changing front men. I would pay to see that on Broadway and be happy about it. Just incredible.
