  • Gene Pitney also recorded this song in the early 60s. Thanks for posting this version, which I hadn't heard before.

  • Didn't know about Pitney's version, thanks.

  • No doubt about it - I'd be there in a New York minute, Sweetie!

  • VERY NICE ROMANTIC SONG

    Thankyou so much for sharing:)

  • My pleasure.

  • check out that scar!! tell me that ain't sexy??? Boy, thats what he looked like when a first met him at Palasades amusement park.. those were the days . He is just as sexy now at almost 67 years old!!

  • I can imagine he's still got his looks.

Palisades Park, once the title of my favourite song...

  • It's a really nice song! Never heard it before. Thanks for posting this.

Look at his eyes! He is soooooo... dreamy! I need to get a grip on myself girls.

  • It's a girl thing...

  • Annette,

Trust me, us girls understand about getting a grip! SirBasil knows....it is a girl thing!

  • Such a Very Lovely Song!!! Iv'e never heard Lou Christie sing these kind of songs! I saw him In concert a few years ago with some Great artists..such as the 4 tops before Levi passed away! I love the 4 tops..In fact, I love alot of R & B music....Thankyou Basil...Anita..

  • No, not much falsetto in this one, but a nice country piano. Seems like you've seen some good artists in concert.

  • Yes, I have Basil, I also saw Percy Sledge at the same concert..the one who sings "When a man loves a woman" and the group who sings "The lion sleeps tonight" I can't seem to recall the rest of them at this time..but, I sure got lucky to see the 4 tops! I was soo excited at the time that I couldn't sit still..

  • Good stuff, and I guess you saw the Tokens. I once stayed in a hotel room next to Percy Sledge's in about 1984. We gave each other a nod in the hallway. He'd been downstairs dancing in the hotel disco. It was just before he had a monster re-hit in the UK with "When a man..."

  • Oh yes, that's the name of the group the Tokens & Wow, that must have made your day when you saw Percy Sledge! I didn't know there was a re-hit of "When a man loves a woman"..Just wondering, did you dance In the hotel disco???

  • I do remember Percy danced a lot better than me. Actually, I only vaguely knew who he was at the time, he was essentially unknown until he went supernova a few months later.

  • Hunky, Heartthrob? Always was, always will be!

  • He was definitely considered a heartthrob...aahhhhhhhhhhhh! Thanks Basil!

  • I realized as I typed "organ", that it might have certain...connotations. Especially with the tight white trousers in the one picture. Did I really say that?

  • Hmm...they are rather tight, but not as tight as his gypsy lady friend in the following picture.

  • Was Lou considered a hunky heartthrob in his day? He had a nice voice, and love the organ!

  • I believe he was soomething of a heart-throb in his time, with or without an organ.
