Thats fine, from memory I believe I said something about tapping all that raw energy for turbines..hoot all I see in that raging water is wasted energy.
I bet it sounded good as well, water is an amazing force in more ways than one.
Sounded just like oceans waves-- seriously, we should have been more proactive and grabbed some foley that day, but there was just too many people there... and we've already got beach noise (a la 'Maternity')!
You're right... the amount of force those rapids pushed forth was simply magnificent-- we're going to see if we can get back there at some point tomorrow to assess what's what now.
There was an article in the local paper about exactly that same issue-- they're starting to post people at the entrances of closed footpaths and bridge crossings now. Surprisingly enough, in a few other areas that had extreme flooding, people were taking the warning signs off closed roads... so road crews were working extra late on Sunday (during the down-pour)!
Those are some serious rapids! Thanks for the show :-)

Supposedly it's ebbed pretty far back, but we've continued to have rain nearly every day... where can it all go? Our front lawn's mush!

Why do humans do really dangerous stuff, that bridge is closed for a very good reason, maybe they did not notice the trickle of water below..
