FYI, McCain has the same economical strategies as Bush (4x gas prices in 8 years), and wants to greatly increase taxes for the lower class so he can make small tax cuts on the upper. If you vote for McCain my fellow American, you are doing worse. How can you not see that the tax cuts are making taxes high for the lower class? As a minority female physician, I did not get into med school because of "affirmative action" - I graduated with honors from a major university. Med school has a prescribed curriculum - you can't choose to take "easier" courses.
One of my first mentors, a kind elderly Caucasian Mayo-educated doc told me medical practice might be difficult because of attitudes like yours. So I am not surprised.
For example, I work in healthcare and have an inside track on local docs. When it came to choosing a doc for my elderly parents, I picked someone who was younger but who I knew had more smarts, drive, better judgement, and compassion than many older docs. My parents say this is the best doc they've ever had.
Not me. I work in a hospital and the younger docs...esp the affirmative action ones are not nearly as competent as the older ones. Sorry, it is not just my opinion...others agree. Med school is politically correct now. Minorities and women get easier courses and grading. Older grads whatever their race or sex are more competent.
With the retrospectoscope, I'd say this video is right on target given what I've seen so far.
And my thinking is similar to Dan's - when deciding my pick, a candidate's thinking and judgment is more important than just years in office or whether they remain the same on a particular issue. McCain has basically been painted as an old fart, and the common public's view on old farts is that they're not very aware of the world TODAY. FYI, McCain has the same economical strategies as Bush (4x gas prices in 8 years), and wants to greatly increase taxes for the lower class so he can make small tax cuts on the upper. Obama will raise our taxes, but that's the only way to save the economy, the gov. can't pay the HUGE debt without getting the money, many people don't realize that lowering is the wrong choice.

If you vote for McCain my fellow American, you are doing worse. How can you not see that the tax cuts are making taxes high for the lower class? How can you not see that politicians like him are leaving people like some of my dear friends broke and homeless? Obama cares for the economy, so we have to raise taxes to get money. As a minority female physician, I did not get into med school because of "affirmative action" - I graduated with honors from a major university. Med school has a prescribed curriculum - you can't choose to take "easier" courses.
One of my first mentors, a kind elderly Caucasian Mayo-educated doc told me medical practice might be difficult because of attitudes like yours. So I am not surprised.

When it came to choosing a doc for my elderly parents, I picked someone who was younger but who I knew had more smarts, drive, better judgement, and compassion than many older docs. My parents say this is the best doc they've ever had.
I'm voting for Obama/ Biden this year.

Not me. I work in a hospital and the younger docs...esp the affirmative action ones are not nearly as competent as the older ones. Sorry, it is not just my opinion...others agree. Med school is politically correct now. Minorities and women get easier courses and grading. Older grads whatever their race or sex are more competent.

With the retrospectoscope, I'd say this video is right on target given what I've seen so far.
And my thinking is similar to Dan's - when deciding my pick, a candidate's thinking and judgment is more important than just years in office or whether they remain the same on a particular issue. The president should be able to adapt their thinking depending on what the circumstances are and not just be consistent for consistency's sake.

Agreed, that probably has a lot to do with the reasons McCain chose Palin. I think, though, that it definitely wasn't the only reason. McCain could only benefit from choosing her as his running mate. McCain has basically been painted as an old fart, and the common public's view on old farts is that they're not very aware of the world TODAY. By choosing a younger, inexperienced woman, he's attempting to gain the younger voter's support. I'd elaborate, but I'm out of space.

I think we tried the conservative religious people with Bush...we don't need to do it again. Palin believes in the literal truth of the Bible. This means more bogus "values" talk about gay marriage and so forth. Leviticus 20:13 makes it clear that homosexuality is an "abomination." Look it up. Then it calls for putting them to death. Of course Leviticus 20:10 also calls for death for adultery. And Leviticus 20:27 calls for death for witches. Let's hear Palin run on that platform!!!
