@arigatron7 Even tough KTMB is the poor service in Intercity, but KTMB is the most efficient Freight Train Operator in Asia Pasific. KTMB is only the best mode for customers to haul their cargo and products. KTMB also is a low-risk and also a reasonable-cost freight hauler.
at least the facilities should be improved... for example the automatic gate...
some of the aged person may need to work hard to pull it...i take the intercity train twice per week, i never see the 'automatic' gate is functioning perfectly, it can only be opened manually... i may changed the image of tourists to our train service, as
@arigatron7 what did you see in Malaysia train locomotives, its running Diesel. Particularly, even though the service its poor but did they ever cancel a single service, no. By the way, its the only rail transport operated by KTMB from Singapore to Malaysia. Japanese Shinkansen aka the bullet train, its true that their trains are on time and likely not to be late.
