Am I going crazy or are the instruments much more clam in all of "vintageGuitarists" Switchfoot uploads? Maybe I am just hearing it differently, maybe I moved something on my volume controls.. but they sound amazing.

This is one of my all time favorite Switchfoot songs. I love the way the song builds up, yet it's still sweet & melodious. To add the cherry on top... Jon sings his heart out! Very rare to find music like this nowadays.

Switchfoot says they don't want to be labeled "Christian rock" because it makes people fell excluded. They want their music to be about God and for EVERYONE, that's why they don't usually say the Lords name in their songs so they can reach out to the secular crowd without sounding too religious, which is true because Christianity isn't a religion, its a relationship.

Because Re:think was bought out by Christian giant Sparrow Records before Switchfoot's first release, however, the band's and Peacock's intentions of being marketed outside of the Contemporary Christian music scene and reaching a wider audience were put on hold. Consequently, the band was mostly marketed exclusively to Christian radio and retail outlets early in their careers, a time Jon Foreman has described as when "half of who we were was lost." (christian exclusively my ass)

I have heard a couple of songs from switchfoot. And I"m sorry but, yes pretty songs but you almost never hear the name of JESUS. I think that if your going to sing about God you should name him. This is just another rock band that could"t make it in the real world. Switchfoot should get out of christian music.

@therubixcube29 All of the band members are Christians, but they don't consider themselves a "Christian Rock" band, because they feel that this puts a "box" around them, and they want their music to be heard by everyone, not just Christians. :)

I love Switchfoot and other bands for Christ like them. They may not play specifically "worship" or "praise" songs, but I love the fact that they choose to worship God by serving people (making wholesome, Godly music for people to listen to) instead of strictly with their lyrical content. Though don't get me wrong, there's a place for the Chris Tomlins and recent Michael W. Smiths. I just believe SF is doing good to reach into the mainstream, yet still keep their roots : D
