@bert26a I use to work for an excavating co in columbia mo and thats all they used. If my memory serves me correctly, alot of them were walkout basements.I think i agree with you on track hoes being faster.
Wow I didn't think anybody dug basements with track loaders anymore, the company I use to work for used 977's, 963's, 941's, and a 953. Then they switched over to excavators because they were way more productive.
You can dig a basement with a track loader but you need lots of room around the site, and it leaves a mess.
An excavator is always faster but you work with what have.
I have done a basement with a backhoe before, dig so far, use the loader, dig more, loader, took the entire weekend but I get it done.
