I like how the video shows of mainly ordinary people....people like us...yet with a strong will we/they can do anything. I am only 13 and training hard with small triathlons i still dream to do an ironman one day, along those "ordinary" people. Be proud people who have done it, And be determined to people who want to.
unbelievable!!!! respect for all who finish something like this!! For the past couple months Ive been training intensely for a half IM, but im so scared that I may not make it…… I need some help from the pros! any advice for a rookie?? Last week I saw a new movie, “Discover the Gift”, which talks about being true to yourself and do whatever you do best giving 100% all the time. I loved it! facebook. com/discoverthegift
this motivated me to train on those days when I did not want to. I just finished my first. I am going to do more. Thanks for the effort and the emotional uplift this gave me. I AM AN IRONMAN.
@mcgrawmark Awesome! Ironman is a such a spiritual journey. I've completed seven now and each time I'm in awe of the whole thing. Keep up the IM journey!
Training for my first marathon, this upcoming October which I know I will complete and this video makes me want to do a triathlon!!! Already saw the Ironman in Madison and I had shivers the whole time I was there. Respect and love to all of you who do this!!
I just did my first Duathlon this past weekend and finsihed my last 100 yards with my son and daughter. What a shot of happiness. Your video made me get that surge sitting at my desk. Thanks for creating such a great video and congrats to all the Athletes who compete because the sidelines look better when you're running by them, not sitting on them.
Jij draagt de gevolgen... Door deze video heb ik veel kunnen trainen! De gevolgen zullen er zijn; De eerste tekenen zullen te zien zijn in Stein! Prachtige motivatievideo, doe zo voort. Een Belgische (amateur)triatleet
on a few month, i will participate in my first Ironman, in Lanzarote. Everyweek i chek videos like this to motivate me and train hard. Thank u very much for the video.
At the end of the presentation (7:50 mark) the score is highlighted. It is the called "Titan Spirit" by Trevor Rabin from the movie, Remember the Titans".
totaly! a normal triathlon gives you also much pussys. but i would do a bit more bodybuilding in your training between your standard-train, so your body looks much better (like the body of a swimmer)
Great video. And the teary part is that lil insert about poise. I did a 70.3, and I was indeed in tears with the pain during the bike, but as always, all those things in your insert do run through people's minds during the bike, when they gather their mental strength to deal with the pain, before the run. Beautiful... And it's worth a cry when you break the tape, always. For believing in yourself.
I'm only 17 years old, This year I'm running a Iron man. My coaches at school told me that I'm crazy and I should start with small tri and I am am to young. They are wrong maybe my body is to young as they are saying but my mind is older. So I told them fuck u boys my dream is not going to stop because of you. I send them this links to tell them good bye and I will send them a picture of me during the race.
dont be too fast to pass judgement. they are correct when they say you are too young, they aren't trying to be rude or doubt you from what it sounds like. Your body still has a lot of growing time left, and all that pressure on your body can really mess you up, it can stunt your growth and cause other problems, since your body isn't at its full potential, it maybe at it for your age, but if you wait a few years since the average male grows till his 20's you would be better off. good luck though
I my self have started training for events, i ran mile 2 mile and xcrountry in high school...now that im 21 and in college is look forward to joining the ranks with my mom who is obtaining her goal to do marathons in all 50 states and qualify for the ironman in Hawaii!! but good luck to ya! I know i'll need it
I am starting to train for these events now that im 21 and in college, used to run mile and 2 mile, and xcountry in highschool. i hope to join the ranks with my mom who has done one, and is determined to qualify for the one in Kona, Hawaii, she is also obtaining her goal of running a marathon in all 50 states...good luck on your training! I know i'll need it :P''
there was someone that was part of that "club" of people who ran a marathon in all fifty states that came to our school. He said there is less than 1000 people who have done it so far..good luck to you and your mom :]
From a health perspective, it probably would be better to wait a few more years. Not just because you'll be older, but because, if you're training during those years, you'll have more endurance and will be less likely to get injured.
Nobody is telling you you can't have a goal. Its GREAT that you do! Just might want to set it as a two year goal (train for two years & then Ironman).
Also, you should do shorter triathlons as part of your training. You'll gain valuable experience! GL!
Good luck to you, but I think you should wait to start doing IronMan, have your goals and let anyone tell you otherwise but always listen to those with experience because they have been there, eitherway I wish the best.
hey good for you man im 16 and my biggest goal is the ironman. Ive done 70.3's before and my family and coaches all think im crazy as well. But keep looking at your goal and when you reach it you can look back and say hey i finished when u said i couldnt and there will be no greater sense of accomplishment
