  • I don't want to play a video game just to get my adrenaline going. I want a game that emotionally captures me. That's what Zelda does for me.

  • awesome! here's to 25 years of awesome!!! :D

  • Brilliant absolutely brilliant

  • my love for zelda started when i downloaded the original "the legend of zelda" and

"zelda II: links adventure" from the nintendo eshop. ever since then, i've loved the games. :)

  • And hopefully it will be one someday. You can help get it going by sharing the video! I'm slowly working on a live-action promo, but it is only a hobby until we get some real backing. Thanks for checking out the vid!

  • Where should I find this? Looks like a movie :)

  • ZELDA FTW BABE!!!!

  • Thanks indeed

  • Hm, let's see. I think I've been with zelda for 12 years. Yeah, since 1998. Don't get me wrong though, I've found a way to play every single zelda game (aside from the oracle games) :(

  • HAHA, that's just awesome.

  • Last month was my 10 year as a zelda fan, my parents set up a party for celebrating my relationship with nintendo's hit game zelda

  • Zelda is so awsome! no game will ever beat it.it will always be the best series in the history of games.

  • @Jack409: ...AGREED! =) Thanks for watching.

  • I have been a fan of the Legend of Zelda for 13 years and I can honestly say no game franchise can come close to what the Legend of Zelda means to video game culture. Thank you Mr. Miyamoto for all the memories and the memories still to come. It amazes me that as video games evolve the Legend of Zelda never loses a beat. The best and most beloved video game franchise of all time. End of story.

  • When Iwata was asked how the birthday celebration would look like, he didn't want to reveal it - but he said (analogously): Well, we showed the anniversary-emblem (!) and it will be something different to the mario-surprise."

So there must be sth that has sth to do with the emblem! The only idea I get is, that is reminds me of Oot (other games have other logos) and its shape is like a buckler. What do you think? Will they sell Oot for Wii with the new motionplus-technics? This would be amazing!

  • I wonder what Nintendo will do to celebrate.

I hope it turns out better than Super Mario: All Stars Edition. I'm sorry Nintendo, but porting an SNES game, putting it on a Wii disc, adding a worthless catalog & mediocre soundtrack, and charging $30, just doesn't cut it, these days. xD

  • Or a gold case / disk perhaps?

    =)

  • They should have a special edition of Zelda Skyward Sword for the 25th anniversary. Like a link statue with it or something

  • It took 7 people to make this 47 second video?

  • @Intravising So........

  • @Southwestenz ...Well maybe you don't have to. The gamecube FourSwords is AWESOME and even better as a multi-player game. I recently bought extra game boy advances to share Zelda with people who have never played and they love it. The movie version of Zelda I envision borrows visually from all of the games, but in terms of story it is closest to A Link to the Past. It is the game that REALLY defined the Legend of Zelda Universe afterall!

  • Hey Southwestenz, that's what got me started too. One of the things I adore about the Zelda franchise is that every generation has had a game that was "theirs". Mine was A Link to the Past, my Uncle's was the original Legend of Zelda and most of my crew are a bit younger than I am and theirs is Ocarina. Give it 5-10 years and Twilight Princess will be the next classic! So I hope Nintendo keeps the brilliance coming.

By the way, if anyone out there wants to see more Zelda-Fan fun, let me know!

  • @SpiderChad

Im from the original at NES and i spent my entire life playing all new Zelda games, and im very proud for having such an honor to have experienced the whole saga from the very beggining.

  • @SpiderChad so many people my age have never even played link to the past but love ocarina, such a shame, lttp is still my all time fave, but the second place is still up for grabs, as time goes on and windwaker and twilight are becoming absolute classics, im finding it very hard picking one out of the 4 3d zeldas

  • @SpiderChad I would like to see more Zelda-Fan fun :) I regularly visit IGN and I saw on the front page about Zelda's 25th anniversary... I didn't click on the link and I regret it because now I have missed out on what video or art pieces they may have had at the time.

  • @SpiderChad Well said. I was born in the 90's and I had the pleasure of watching my Dad play Ocarina of Time. I was only a young kid, and although I didn't play the game entirely myself, I sat by my Dad and watched him play it... It's one of my earliest memories of my gaming history. Can you believe it? I still haven't played Ocarina of Time myself entirely, but I consider it as one of the best games I've ever played. Ironic...

  • one of my earliest memories is playing Zelda on the super nintendo at my cousins house, just like that i was hooked and still am over 15 years later.

if not for Nintendo i probably would have got board of games a long time ago

  • The Sword should be like the Master Sword. Depsite that great 25th The Legend of Zelda Anniversary Tribute video.

  • Whats the name of the font at the end? I WANT IT

  • I just wish they'd hurry up with Skyward Sword >.>

  • There are other games out there, COD; Killzone; LittleBigPlanet; Fallout.

    Those are good games too.

But none have effected me; enthralled me; changed me; challenged me; shocked me and most importantly, amazed me, more than the Zelda series.

For that, Shigeru Miyamoto, I thank you. We thank you. All the people who have played Zelda, young and old, and have been captured by its brilliance, Thank you.

    Thank you.

  • @Zelda123aran ...But LittleBigPlanet is in second place, right? :3

  • Short, sweet, and to the point.

  • Chad i think you just made a viral video :P

    - Jansen

  • Stop the timeline thing, just enjoy Zelda.

  • Well Done!

  • ...Where the hell is the rest of the video? You can't make something like that and just leave a cliffhanger.

    FFFFUUUUUU

  • You are lucky.....Ganon has not found the footage XD

  • Zelda is and will always be the best video game series in History.

  • @Linkzor24 by far

  • short but amazingly sweet

  • happy birthday link!

  • badass

  • The Legend Of Zelda For Ever!

Link, The Hero Of All Time.

  • yknow what game needs to be made? the original zelda. fuck the legendary heroes and the whole ressurrection and reincarnation story..... fuck all that shit. make the original zelda. the start of the legend.

  • @joegt123 Skyward Sword is a prequel to Ocarina of Time, which until now has been usually marked as the "first" Zelda, if I'm not terribly mistaken.

  • @SilverGurufine Not even close. OoT was very big on the legend of the hero and the great evil. I'm talking about the forging of the master sword, ganon's first incarnation, the first princess, the first hero. Don't get me wrong, OoT is still the greatest zelda and one of the greatest games of all time, but if they made the 'original' legend of zelda and did it right... it would be so stupendously epic it's not even funny.

  • @joegt123 I hate to disagree, but while Ocarina does have allusions to previous events (such as the Master Sword, like you mentioned) Ganondorf's first incarnation is in Ocarina, ask anyone; before Skyward Sword was placed before Ocarina in the timeline, there was no indication of a Link prior to Ocarina, maybe a Zelda but we wouldn't know because that name is a tradition in the Royal Family. Also, the Skyward Sword (Spoiler Alert) has been confirmed to become the Master Sword. Look it up :)

  • @SilverGurufine Overthinking it.

  • @GPazosL Overthink Zelda? Nonsense. xD;

  • @SilverGurufine GanonDORF, yes. But the evil entity that is GANON is different, I think. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think any of the Zeldas so far are anywhere near the time of the original. Maybe OoT is the third Generation and Skyward Sword will be the second. Or maybe Skyward Sword IS the first... In which case, I'm sorely disappointed. But what ever. We wont know until say it directly.

  • @joegt123 I see that you two are talking about the Ganon timeline, but I think you may be forgetting about Vaati's timeline. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it's believed that The Minish Cap is the first game chronologically, followed by Four Swords and Four Swords Adventures. This is all just from what I've heard, so I'm not sure whether it's true. After all, Nintendo hasn't released an official timeline, so all of this is just speculation. This is just my take on things.

  • @Nightshade128 True, those three games are the odd ones out, aren't they? I'd agree with you that they are usually placed before Ganondorf.

  • @Nightshade128 actually nintendo has declared that there is NO timeline and that each game is its own story.

  • @ihernandez112 And they also have said there is a timeline XD infact just recently It was stated that there is one but if they released it they couldn't make ones that take place farther in the past

  • @ihernandez112 Thats false.

  • @googleboy314 Is that so? /watch?v=w5FozOuwQjI&feature=related , if you can come up with any proof that there is a timeline awesome, i'll take your word on it. But until then, i'm going off of what this guy has.

  • @joegt123 I don't think they are different...but of course, if Ganon shows up in SS, that would make you right, wouldn't it? I guess we will have to wait. :)

  • @joegt123 Imagining that come into being makes me cry. It'd be beautiful.

  • Nice. I too thank Miyamoto for 25 years of a successful game franchise. Not once have we seen Zelda take a tremendous dive like Sonic.

  • Wow. That was pretty dang sweet.

  • wow

  • so beautiful

    so wonderful

such a great game is eternal

  • BEAUTIFUL!! :)

  • wicked!!!

  • that's pretty bitchin'

  • This was pretty cool dude.

  • amazing!
