the ecb removing Old Trafford as a main test venue I still find shocking, most of the amazing things that have happened in English test cricket have happened in Manchester.
@boeing74783 "and he bows as good as Donald as well"
Well, well... Do you expect us to take you seriously after that comment? Honestly, I am still trying to digest the fact that you placed Cork in Donald's league!
@Imrankniazi No I did not, why don't you teach me some cricket you dumb ass. I did play cricket for many years and I opened bowling for one of the best league teams in a country. If there is a clip posted, why don't you write something sensible. What you all of a sudden become a cricketing expert so that you can comment on something nice written about a player. At least Dominic Cork represented a country, but what have you done to show your talent?
Those are 2 weak LBW's, the WI batsmen underestimated Cork to thier detriment, Hooper put his pad out and tried to play around it, Congrats to Cork, he put the ball in the right spot and got the rewards

And to think in a flat in Manchester somewhere 2 gay men were having sex during this historic cricket moment...they probably enjoyed that gay sexual moment as much as we enjoyed this!
I know back in the 1990's gays still had to stay indoors if they wanted to kiss,or even fuck each other :-O , but he does look like a little tinky gay guy you might see up Canal Street in Manchester.Don't you agree boys? Very twinky, very sweet, very cute.
You seem to know a lot about the "twinky, sweet, canal street" gay scene, so I don't know why you're asking us for an opinion when you're clearly the expert.
Cork was adament that ENGLAND players shouldnt and wouldnt return to India after the terror attacks. But he kept his mouth shut after 7/7 when they were sittin at Lords 12 days later playing Int'l cricket.
Corky never played the amount of games his talent deserved. Particularly when he was playing for us (Derbyshire) in the early/mid 90s and was consistently bowling brilliantly. The selectors made some dreadful decisions over the years and not playing Corky more often was one of them.
Durbs - The point that you were a student has little bearing , even if thats the case this hatrick was taken in August so you wouldn't have been at uni anyway and also it was a sunday morning.. and most people lie in on a sunday
This was the first and only hat trick I have ever seen live.I'll never forget it.I have seen a few on video, but being there, amongst the barmy army was incredible. Thanks for taking the time to post this vid,m8.
I so agree dude! Funny thing is, I knew the guy who used to coach him as a school boy in Derbyshire. He said long before his knees gave way that he was being bowled too much.
(completely unbiased opinion) i reckon its a lot closer than you think, it looks like its going down leg bt if u look at the batsmens positioning his front leg has come a long way across and so i think it was going on to hit the stumps.
I do no much. The aussies are the best team in the world, and when he played against the aussies he only got 5 wickets in 3 matches at an average of 49.80.Yeah he mighta got wickets against weak teams like the west indies but like alot of players when it came to the aussies not many peolpe were good enough.Dominic Cork sucks.
This was when Cork was it his best. Got bounce off the surface and he consistently swung the ball. What a great post this is. So nice to see Richie Richardson. Wish some of his innings were posted here.
Dominic Cork follows Stoke City, so he was already a legend before this !!!

Dominic Cork absolutely ruled that 1995 series - didn't he take 7-for in one of the earlier tests?

It was that bowling spell that had the press calling him "Beefy 2" for a while. Pity Cokies kness gave out. He was a 'could have been' for England.
StuartMB68 3 years ago
Yeah, he could bat at number 8 too.
frobishero 3 years ago
No wonder he got the hat trick, the batsmen would be distracted from that crazy run-up angle.
Great bowling.
subwayisoverpriced 4 years ago 2
Used to be fairly common to run in from that angle. Merv Hughes did something similar.

the west indies were the best team in the world then, the aussies now are the best team, but back then, they destroyed everyone
the westindies plummed the aussies when the used to play them back in the 80's and early 90s
so dominic cork is good

Actually, Australia took the No 1 mantle from the West Indies in the 1995 Caribbean series, which was just before this one.

Of course, playing against Australia is the only thing that counts. That's the attitude here in the land of Oz.
