Fairtax sounds great, but it's really goofy.

Google Fairtax second tier -- it has a trillion dollar "second tier" of taxation, that is central to their "plan". SInce they know they can't collect this "second tier" of taxation (that is why they hid it), their own plan is a farce.

I mean literally, a farce -- they KNOW their own plan is a joke, and have avoided hearings under oath for 13 years.

He really didn't, he bought 86-DOS (actually lets be accurate, he got sombody else to buy it for him) from a company called Seattle Computer products then hired a bunch of people to make a GUI for it based on Mac's GUI then he sold it. This is part of the reason Windows is so shitty today, it's based on a patched and cobbled version of a Shell designed for 8086.

The only real merit in Gates was he was very smart in using vendor lock-in to ensure people remain dependant on his OS.

Well first off corporations would have to pay tax in the first place instead of hiding money in other countries and paying zero tax. Even if you did what Forbes wanted to do and do a 15% flat tax which seems fair, it wouldn't be. After 90k you don't pay anymore into SS which means that the poor who make under 90K would be paying 15% + SS on their entire paycheck versus a rich person paying 15% + (SS up to 90k ).. So the poor would still be paying a bigger % of their pay..Fuck the rich

I don't imagine somebody engineering a broadly contributive productive system would consider ppl using their money=work(time and energy application) for abundant over-valued art which only one person will enjoy. In other words, other people project their own meaning onto "fair" it's an irrelevant word. My dad is a Landlord and he told me this about the fair tax he said it works for everyone, 30% of everything you buy gos down because of the coperate tax and 22% gos up because of sales tax. 8% cheaper for everything + no income tax. Food is not taxed so that's cheaper exports wont be taxed so that's cheaper and so on. Any way you put things in our society the wealthy will always come out on top.
