I do not reccomend the droid eris. This is the worst phone I've ever had. The battery is horrible, it's horribly slow and the screen is too sensitive

I haven't heard any solid info on the Essex's release date. I've heard rumors of a February release, but it's half way through the month and still no press release.

idk stuck between eris and storm 2 went to verizon fell in love with the storm 2 its texting was orgasmic lol but i would like the extra screens like on the eris but texting wasnt that great 4 me lol wich is better for messeging in general and music HELP!!

If messaging and music are your main interests, it's hard to argue against the Storm 2. I found typing to be slightly easier on the Storm 2 as well. The Eris has a decent music player, but the Storm 2 has all the basic controls plus some preset eq's and audio boost features. You'd probably be better off with the Storm 2.

THANX!! ALOT lol helped alot now how is the instant messeging on the storm 2 my current phone is TERRIABLE with it it is slow and sumtimes never rescieves the mgs lol i ues windows live i know id ave to download it but im only concerned abotu  how fast it sends and rescieves thanx!

Honestly, I didn't use Windows Messenger while I had the Storm 2. The Blackberry Messenger is hands down the best instant messenging service I've used on a mobile phone, so that's all I ever needed. If you have a ton of Windows Mobile contacts that you can't live without, Windows Messenger is available in the Blackberry App Store. I just tried to download it on my Curve and my phone crashed, so I can't comment on the speed. I'll get back to you on that, lol.

I like the Motorola Droid better. More horsepower, bigger and better display, and the slide out keyboard.

im not really a big fan of the droid eris i always liked the eris and the droid. most likely ill end up getting the droid eris because its cheaper than the storm 2

I like the Eris better aswell. It may not have the speed the droid has but it has flash, 7 home screens, track ball, more compact and to me is sleeker and less bulky as the droid. I would get the eris.

Not all smartphones are world phones. The Eris isn't equipped for GSM, so it's not a world phone. The Storm 2 is a world phone and is capable of working overseas.

Oh I see. So which HTC phone would you recommend. Eris, Bravo, or Passion. Even though the other two aren't out yet? But, I'm thinking on getting the Eris though, can't decide.

The Eris is hot phone with a great price ($99). The Bravo is going to be higher end than the Eris. The Bravo's specs are almost identical to the Nexus One (aka Passion). Both phones have the larger 3.7" displays, and will be run on 1Ghz Snapdragon processors, so they will be faster than the Eris. The main difference is the Nexus one runs plain Android, and the Bravo will run Android with HTC's Sense interface. I would also expect both of these phones to start at $199.

So if you are looking to save cash, go with the Eris. If you are looking for an upper end device both the Nexus One and Bravo will work, it just depends on if you want stock Android or HTC's Sense version of Android.

MegaLifeChange is right. The Eris like most of the smart phones on Verizon require a $30 data plan in addition to your regular monthly voice charges.

in a week, i get a new phone, im debating between the droid and droid eris, i want the droid eris because of the size because the phone is always in my pocket when i go outside to skateboard and stuff, will i be happy with this decision?

I've had both and I ended up sticking with the Eris. I like it so much better! My boyfriend on the otherhand has the droid and loves it. I think the droid is more of a guys phone.

I have played with this phone and its a beautiful phone but maybe next year I will go with a droid. I just purchased a BB Storm 2 and I love it. Lots of memory and virtually no lag compared to storm 1. I have had no probs with the storm 2. The BB Browser is slow but I use opera and Bolt.Someone mentions txting on the storm 2 is standard txting which is incorrect. with OS 5.0 it has threaded txt messaging. Droid is a great phone but I love Blackberrys.

The Storm2 is a lot quicker than the original, but I didn't like using Opera on the Storm2 as much as I like it on the Curve. I was wrong about the threaded SMS. I haven't sent many test texts on the Storm2, but I retried a few and it does thread the messages into one coversatioin.

i been wanting to get a smart phone and i would really like and I phone, however i refuse to go with at&t. I like the HTC ERIS and the STORM 2 but i cant decide which one. i txt a lot but i would also like to view video clips on line. what would be your advice?

For texting and viewing videos online you'd have to go with the Eris. Texting is easy on both phones, the one difference is the Eris supports threaded messaging and the Storm does standard text messaging. As far as watching videos, the Eris way ahead. Both phones have youtube apps, but other than youtube you can't watch many online videos on the Storm2. The Eris supports Flash, so you can watch videos on most websites.

Good video.. But Ah not sure what to get I know I want an android phone but I'm going back and forth between the motoroal droid and htc droid eris! I'm a really txter which do u think will be best??? I've heard droids hardware keyboard isn't good.

I would go with the Droid. The keys on the Droid's keyboard are pretty flat, but it's still a keyboard. The Moto Droid's touchscreen keyboard is just as good as the Droid Eris, so even if you don't like the physical keyboard you won't be missing anything. Plus the Motorola Droid has a little more horsepower which makes everything run a little faster.

Tough call man. On a ratings scale I would score them even, but for me I would slightly lean towards the HTC. It really depends on what you're looking for. If you want the ability to fully customize your phone and a high grade web browser you should consider the HTC. If you're all about messaging and browsing isn't that important you'll probably favor the Tour. Don't forget the price too. The tour is $149 and the HTC Eris is $99.

Im going with the HTC DROID Eris. I have t he Storm it sucks. the only difference between storm and tour it has the same features and shit the tour just has buttons. im getting a phone i can customize so im going with the droid eris. the motorola is too boxy and ugly. and it has a keyboard that slides. not my thing.
