Hello, I am in community college, but I want to transfer after I take my basics. What should I do? This is my 2nd year in college. And also, how can I get a job at a pharmacy client? so I can have an idea of what it's like. Thanks!
Hello, I am a 3rd student at a a foreign pharmacy school. After six years total in ou university, we obtain our "Doctorat d'Etat en Pharmacie", which is pretty much your PharmD. My questions are
1/once a foreign student gets his diploma as a pharmacist, how can he get the equivalence of an American PharmD?
2/ Without an equivalence,I've heard that it's possible to get into research. To which other domains does that apply (marketing perhaps)?
don't go to pharmacy school, the field is really truly saturated, the wage will begin to drop in 2012 due to excess of pharmacists. It will become the next "IT" oversupply.
hey paul, i was just wondering if you got a bachelors degree and if so in what? i was thinking of getting a bachelors in public health science because it does have the classes which most schools require as pre reqs. so my question is if you did get a bachelors, what did you get it in.
hello my name is tyler I am 6 months away from graduation high school and to be honest I do not have the best grades but i've always wanted to be a Pharmacists please I need help in direction for what I need to do
@fauxden Don't be so sure of this. The pharmacist role is changing and is going into a more clinical area and more specialized. By 2012 there is going to be a substantial need for more pharmacist as doctors become less available for their patients and the patients getting advice and consultation from their neighborhood pharmacist. Especially if Obamacare is here to stay... If you are thinking about pharmacy school, do it, in 6 years there WILL be a job for you waiting.
hello my name is paulna im a pharmacy technician but i want to take the bachelor degree whats the name for is it pharmacist or bpharm please help me please
i'm just a junior in highschool and got interest in pharamcy during my sophmore year, i did some research over the summer about pharmacy school, but i had not realized how much you need to do just to get into pharmacy school. This is an eye opener for me.
hi paul tran, i need some additional info for getting into pharmacy school, i am trying for PhD in USA and i am a international applicant, can you contact me through my id? cancan87theavk@gmail.com
Thank you very much for the video. I've been considering this as a career and wondered what it took to become a Pharmacist. This was great advice of what to expect. Thank you again.\

In additional to your tips, I heard that we can get more chance of getting through the admission process if we were students attending in that school and had a bachelor degree. Is this way possible?

okay here's my situation, i am in grade 10 right now and i am only doing volunteering in a hostital. What else do u recommend i be doing to strengthen my application in the mean time?
@TruAzn100 Thanks for commenting, you should probably try to volunteer in a pharmacy at the hospital. I also suggest looking at other healthcare fields other than pharmacy. The job market is at its peak right now and will only get worse in the coming years because of the amount of pharmacists coming to the job market. (New Schools Everywhere).
@YouthHealth2 well is this the case in Canada? cause i am in Canada and i think the pharmacy situation is a bit different. We don't have as many pharmacy schools
@YouthHealth2 I have another question. Would you recommend taking pre pharmacy for 2 years or 3 years? Would I have a better chance of getting accepted if I took it for three years?
@utahjazz9com For schooling the only thing they will most likely take into consideration is if you have a bachelors vs no bachelors degree. I would recommend that you apply the second you get a chance. This way you would have applied after 2 yrs and say you don't get in the first time you will have practice for the 2nd time (on your 3rd year of prereqs). Schools like to see re-applicants too because it shows you are dedicated. But you have to improve from the first time they interview you.
@YouthHealth2 If you don't get in the first time, ask them what can I do for next year? Then you improve on all they things they ask you to do. And most likely you will get in the 2nd try. Furthermore, it won't hurt to try after 2 yrs of prereqs and get denied and have to try again the next year. You would have lost no time because you would have applied after 3 yrs prereqs (hope that makes sense). You can only gain by applying early is what I'm trying to say.
This is so true!! I really wished I had this guidance when I first started out college. =( ...
However, I did manage to finish everything in time and, although no actual pharmacy experience, a lot of experience related to leadership, health, and volunteering for the community. =) I just applied, have my fingers crossed, but won't give up!
@Kiyohne Hurrah, so some good news with the applications, I've received two invites from the four schools I've applied for in California: one from University of the Pacific, and the second one from University of California San Francisco! I'm going to give them my all for the interview. =) Don't give up. Apply. I never knew I could've gotten this far. Believe in yourself and show your determination that this is what you want, and know that you're the right person for this profession.
@bobsagetbillgates Of course! My pleasure, thanks for stopping by and commenting and watching!
Note: Keep in mind the things I mentioned is an IDEAL/Perfect student, you do not need to do everything mentioned to get into pharmacy school, but definitely work on some of them to make your application stronger.

@utahjazz9com Pharmacy Experience, Decent GPA, Decent PCAT, and a wow factor (unique thing that makes you different from everyone else)
