i had a mosquito noise box when I was like 15 while camping and I didn't hear it. So I guess this information is false.

$1000. I wish they had a less expensive one that worked on kids younger than that, too! There are about 8-10 kids that play (yelling & screaming) on the street out in front every damn day. Their parents don't care cuz the kids are out of the house and out of their hair. There's a play area at the end of the street but they don't go there. Every day after work I have to listen to them (even with the windows shut) instead of being able to unwind. I want one to drive the damn noisy kids away!

How is this torture if one can walk away from it?

At nearly 46 I can hear a 15.8 KHz (age 30 or less, supposedly) tone and it's less irritating than the high pitched tinnitus I've been saddled with since early childhood--which I can't walk away from--and a lot less bothersome than the squeal a CRT (television tube) makes, which I've come to despise. I wish I could enjoy silence, but I always need a little background noise to mask the tinnitus when awake.

its not b.s. if anyone over the age of 30 or so can hear it as well then it isn't the correct mosquito noise. I thought my kid was full of crap too until I tested him on it. Its just a sound at a high decibel, and as we get older we lose the higher frequency. The Mosquito noise frequency vibrates at 20,000 hz. Only young people can hear that frequency.

I want the scientific explanation as to why such a specific group of people would be the only ones to hear a sound frequency that dogs can't hear when their hearing is supposed to be better than a human's. Very many people abuse their hearing and the effect of it take some years (young people gets a little older)

Thay even say it in the video "that ringing sound" you have when comes from a concert as that's a normal thing when go to a concert - WTF there is something called ear plugs.

I hear those frequencies well and I'm 25 - and I have also not lost any detectable amount of hearing compared to when I was 17. I continiously test my hearing when play with sound, do recordings etc.

I don't think those frequencies are very anoiying (I have played a lot with them myself) - but I really hate the idea of discrimination.

Theachers often have bad hearing - so it works pretty good to use the thing against them :-)

they said that dogs couldnt even hear this tone. i did a test that they actualy can hear it. i have this tone on my phone. i played it and i could barely hear it. my dog herd it from across the room. her ears purked up right away looked at me then ran to get away from the noise.
