Had the Evo8 mr let that one go for a 07 hawkeye sti and enjoy driving the subie for everyday driving hands down and I live in L.A, my Evo was a bit quicker on straight line but driving any other road in socal my subie took the cake..just my .02

Well the new evo X gained so much weight, while the STI weighs almost as much as the previous STI. Look at the 1/4 mile times, the STI is quicker overall. Granted the Evo is still slightly quicker around a race track, at least the one with paddle shifters, but i bet if you put the same amount of effort into the STI's suspension, it would end up beating the EVO. The EVO is a good car, just needs to lose some weight. I Think a lighter car with a bigger motor is better than the other way around.

@hatakashi1900 the 4b11 in the evo 10 is practically the same exact design as the 4g63 motor only an aluminum block and its reversed to where the turbo is in the back and not the front. that being said its actually better for power gains as the 4b11 gets more power per mod over the 4g63. ALSO the evo x was the only evo designed from the bottom up to be an evo where as the other models were upgraded from the lancer, the X's chassis is better as is the motor so how is it not an evo?

The 4b11 can't handle as much power before shitting itself as the 4G63. Iron block closed deck > Aluminum block semi closed all day long. Also your comment about the X being the only Evo built from the ground up to be an Evo is about the dumbest shit I have ever read. It's built off a SEBRING Chassis, quit spewing your BS to pump up the Sebring X. The previous Evos that are CT Chassis codes are actually built off a LANCER Chassis with many extra spot welds. Evo X is not an EVO.

@chargedvette02 lol ive driven both an evo 8-9 the funny thing is ive been tuning the x which is alot better when it comes to mods, its heavier cause its wider the 4b11 isnt a weak sti like motor as u proclaim it blows when ppl dont kno what there doing and dont kno how to drive it. my buddy with an 8 has a tb, bigger turbo, and e-85 pushing 400 to the wheels, u kno whats funny? i keep up with less power and only an intake and catback with a flash lol u obv have shit Xs in ur area.

You know what's funny, if your buddy has anything but an Evo 9 turbo swap and only hit 400 whp with E85 he really needs to see a new tuner. The X is not better when it comes to mods because they shit themselves at 400- 420 whp just like STI's while the 4G63 has been known to push over 650whp on the stock block. Also there are stock turbo, stock engine Evo 8's and 9's running mid 10's in the 1/4 while the fastest stock turbo X is high 11's LMAO, better for mods hahahaha.

Also it's not heavier just because of the width hahahaha, that is just one part of it. It also has more safety features which is not a bad thing if you want a nice Sebring daily driver. BTW, you're posting more BS because physics don't lie, your car with said mods might push 300 to the wheels while weighing over 300 lbs more than your buddies car, power to weight is not in your favor my friend but continue to spew your BS.

Hate to break it to you nublet but you arent making anywhere near 385 whp with the mods you posted even with E85 which you arent running. the fact of the matter is the x is slower in car and driver, slower in road and track and slower on the top gear test track lol. you have the only and i mean only evo to lose to an sti on top gear lol, not to mention its probably the worst sti ever made the 08.

X = Only Evo to lose to an STI on Top Gear.

X = Only a handful of heavily modified X's running 10's in 1/4 mile while there are stock block/turbo 9's running mid 10's.

X = Has not broken into the 9's in 1/4 mile.

X = Slower around the ring.

X = Lost to a 9 on Insdie Line.

X = Can't take nearly as much power on stock block.

X = not even close to 1000 whp barrier while 9 has hit 1200 whp.

The X sucks man.

The Evo 8 and Evo 9 were their best lethal cars for mitsubishi in my opinion. I really didn't feel much performance from the Evo until the Evo 8 came along. It just had that aggressive aura that would never go away when i saw it, like it wanted to take on any car and beat it. Same situation with the Evo 9. I think they messed it up with the Evo 10 because that aura went away when it came. just my opinion
