nice build!! I want to build the Avro Lancaster but the man in the hobby shop told me it was gonna be available in january! is that just the shop or the whole U.S. hobby shops?:o
Having just bought the new Revell kit (04670) i can say it is a wonderful kit. Nicely detailed and i seriously hope they do a Sterling too. But back to the vid.... lovely build of a very old kit
I think my Airfix kit has been collecting dust now for about fifteen years or more on the shelf, and i was curious about the revell kit, but i think i would have known about it, had it been a winner. I must really applaud Revell for all their recent top quality kits, but i guess this one just didn`t make the cut. So i will wait for hasegawa or mpm or special hobby or someone like that for the Halifax of tomorrow...i mean, just look at what hasegawa managed to do to the Avro Lancaster !!! :-)
I wanted to see what this kit looked like, and it sure looks good!! I have the old Airfix kit, which is a later Mk of the Halifax, so it is slightly different.. but when I can afford to buy models again, I may well get this kit.. :) You did a very good job.. :)
When you can buy models again, buy Revell, better part quality and more detail for the same amount of money as Airfix. Hasegawa kits are hit and miss from what I've heard, they always have great detail but the fit isn't so perfect half the time. Great work and slideshow, more lighting would be a perk though.
I may well do.. but I have a strong affection for the old Airfix stuff.. :) The Revell version of Halifax does not appeal to me in the same way, I like the look of the Airfix version better.. :) But quality ways the Revell kit is far superior, I have to agree 100% with you there.. :)
I build this kit a while back - It's no too bad and I agree with you the quality is far better than the airfix version (which I build many years ago and that wasn't great). However if you compare it to Revell's recent new tooling of the Lancaster you can see it lacks a lot of detail - it doesn't even have a bombload....

I build this Halifax as B.Mk.Ia in 1992 too. It's an old Matchbox kit of the 1970s but for its time it was one of the finest detailed model kits.

Is there more up to date HP Halifax out there? This one came out in the 1970's

That's the former Matchbox kit. I built this in 1992 too. Concerning its time of market release in the 1980s it was very well detailed.
