This is my personal favorite movie of 2010! Sly Stallone is real genius and the best action star ever. You can really feel the atmosphere of old good 80's and 90's. It was awesome to see Stallone, Statham, Lundgren, Austin, Li, Crews, Couture, Roberts, Rourke, Daniels in one film. Statham and Charisma Carpenter made a very beautiful and hot screen couple. Now I hope Willis and Schwarzenegger will get more screen time in the future sequels. Also it would be great to see Sandra Bullock in it

I had a list of films that I need to see and Rocky was on that list. I planned on seeing it before The Expendables, but other plans got in the way. But now, I don't need to worry abou seeing it.

Why anyone would compare this to Rocky is WELL beyond me. But this movie, in and of itself, is meant to be a testosterone filled action movie. I would dare say that within the past 25 years, this movie accomplishes that better than most. The fact that it was so 80's in its approach (call it a callback to the golden days of action movies) and yet managed to take itself seriously without so much as a nod or a wink (as if to say "yeah, you know what this is") just makes it better.
I assume you are speaking of the scene with the shotgun (which I personally consider to be it's own character). Yes, this movie was all around awesome.
This movie sucked, sucked, SUCKED. I was expecting a ton of nonstop action, but instead barely anything happened. The most violet/best moment happened at the beginning, and aside from the Ah-nold/Stallone/Willis scene it went downhill from there.
If you're looking for hardcare, manly, gory-as-hell action thriller, it looks like the best bet will be with Machete when it comes out next month. At least I hope that'll be the case.
10/10 - Honestly if the movie solely consisted of the Expendables cast sitting around drinking tea for the entire film, it would still be worth the price of admission.

I give this movie a 5, the action scenes were awesome and seeing all the big time actors was cool but the script was severely lacking as well as the plot in general. Also Arnold needed to be in there longer...

I'd give this movie a 6. The action scenes were spectacular; however, the plot was pretty weak, even for a campy action flick. Stallone did a lot better with his last revivals, Rocky Balboa and Rambo (which was pretty awesome). For this to be a throw-back to 80's action films, I think more could have been do to illicit a nostalgic feeling i.e. more references to those films and a better use of the Schwarzenegger and Willis cameos.

@BeyondTheTrailer I KNOW!!! What the heck? I felt tricked and cheated when I realized how little arnold and bruce were in the movie. The trailer makes you think they are all in the movie together more than 3 minutes., Total BS.
Seriously though....I tried watching this movie last night and I fell asleep. I was really bored, And although I acknowledge the fact that the fight scenes were elaborate and the film was an homage to 80s action films, but I feel that can't make up for a film that feels bloated and ill scripted.
Combine all the explosions from Die Hard, Terminator, and Rambo, and you have maybe half the explosions total of the great summer blockbuster The Expendables!

Why anyone would compare this to Rocky is WELL beyond me. But this movie, in and of itself, is meant to be a testosterone filled action movie. I would dare say that within the past 25 years, this movie accomplishes that better than most. The fact that it was so 80's in its approach (call it a callback to the golden days of action movies) and yet managed to take itself seriously without so much as a nod or a wink (as if to say "yeah, you know what this is") just makes it better.

This movie sucked, sucked, SUCKED. I was expecting a ton of nonstop action, but instead barely anything happened. The most violet/best moment happened at the beginning, and aside from the Ah-nold/Stallone/Willis scene it went downhill from there.
If you're looking for hardcare, manly, gory-as-hell action thriller, it looks like the best bet will be with Machete when it comes out next month. At least I hope that'll be the case.

It was a action packed balls to the wall fun, with a nice smear of nostalgia.
Bruce Willis seemed useless in the movie, he could have been easily replaced with anyone. It was great seeing Dolph in a prominent role again.

I give this movie a 5, the action scenes were awesome and seeing all the big time actors was cool but the script was severely lacking as well as the plot in general. Also Arnold needed to be in there longer...

I'd give this movie a 6. The action scenes were spectacular; however, the plot was pretty weak, even for a campy action flick. Stallone did a lot better with his last revivals, Rocky Balboa and Rambo (which was pretty awesome). For this to be a throw-back to 80's action films, I think more could have been do to illicit a nostalgic feeling i.e. more references to those films and a better use of the Schwarzenegger and Willis cameos.
