That's crazy. I used to mech on AMF 82-70's tenpin. Just curious, on our machines it's pretty straightforward as far as how the pinwheel picks up the pins. How does your machine pick them up from the pit to send them to the distributor?
We don't have candlepin in Michigan, so I was curious what it's like behind the scenes. I work part time at a ten pin alley, mostly pinjumping. We have Brunswick machines but they're very old, roughly 50 years. There is a small aisle in the back where you can walk, but the machines are installed so you can't walk across more than two at a time- you have to climb up each pair, watching where you put your hands so they don't get smashed.
If I ever get to New England, I'm going to try candlepin!
I just noticed this video, interesting a model CE almost like the model D but still uses conveyors to push the pins to the tubes where the model D uses the pusher bar to push the pins all the way to the tubes eliminating the pin conveyors.
Nice video, Wolf! Since there is no candlepin in Oklahoma, I enjoyed seeing how those pinsetters worked. I've worked in a few bowling centers in the Tulsa area. All of them used AMF so they all worked the same. Thanks again for the in-depth video.
