@Redchange I would recommend listening to the original Tears for Fears version, the people who actually wrote this song. It's faster paced than the version here and has loud drums and a bunch of guitar effects. I personally enjoy the second half where the strumming begins. Gary Jules version is wonderful as well. He took a rock song and made it soft, be careful not to get into the thinking that songs are meant to be a certain way. That's not what music is about.

@Jest Thanks for your explanation. Definitely you are right, original version is different, you meant to play it more like it than Jules. Don´t understand me wrong, you are very good, you had such a emotional and soulfull voice and play guitar good, but i said only my opinion that soft version fit more for this type of melody and lyrics and I won´t change my mind. You don´t have to agree, its ok. ;-) But if you want give me a present, please sing it for me again, in soft version. :)

@Jest ah thanks mate, thing is i'm left handed but got a right handed guitar cosi thought i'd be better with it but when i flip it it turns out i'm better at strumming on my left not my right so i've got a useless £300 right handed guitar -_- might get a paino or summit

@RobJohnB95 I know there have been left handed guitarists that have played a right handed guitar. You could also play it upside down if you want to be strange, there are a whole bunch of guitarists who do that too. Dick Dale for example.
