@McEddi3 Over here in New zealand we dont have 'diplomas' we have 5th 6th 7th form and they work like this. . . there are things called NCEA levels. Level 1 for 5th form, 2 for sixth etc etc. For each of those level you sit test and assesments and exams. They work on a credits system. An example is you may get 2 credits for an essay. You need 80for each level. If you get 80 at level 3 (or higher) you're finished! You can get pass with acheivement, merit or excellence. Make sense? :)
i dropped out of school at 14 .. got my diploma of hairstyling at 15 and now 15 turning 16 in october i am a successful freelance hairstylist... i do hairstyles for runway and photoshoots for an agency and next year i'll be working for one of the top salons in my city i'm pretty sure i'll be fine because i've planned well :) and i dont believe that all "kids" dont know what they want and cant handle the "real world" ...

Dropping out of school can have several reasons. But whatever reason it is that makes you quit school, consider that it might not be more important than your entire future. I left school because the education system is fucked. I believe that i can now educate myself. What high school kids need to know is, when it comes to the "real world" they only see what they show on t.v and you can't necessarily trust t.v. They think they had it hard in high school? I got cheated on, dumped, and talked shit to from almost every one of my ex girlfriends, save for a few who weren't VERY psychotic, and one who was completely normal. Then one of my ex's thought it would be funny to spread a rumor that I raped her (why she picked me, I know not to this day)

My grandfather chased me and my father out of his home with a shot gun (where we lived at the time). You can understand why we packed up and moved. 5 hours away. I went to a private school, we owed them money, my dad was waiting on his taxes to come back to pay them off, we got to my new school, I had turned 17 a week before, the woman said "we are not required to enroll you because your 17" and by the time taxes came back it would be to late to enroll. So I was forced to drop out.
I considered it because the institutional aspect turns me off. I like having energy of the individual rather than the lessened energy of superiors. However, I realized that my goal in like is to steward the universe and the most most efficient way of doing that is with a quality education.

But now I plan on getting my grade 12 and working 2 years after school then heading of to another cooking school but if that fails then I plan to work with heavy equipement because I already have knowledge and experience with it and I also enjoy using it.

My last two years of high school was unbearable. The school was overcrowded with stupid people who only got in my way of learning. It had its good points and i really enjoyed my freinds, but i really wish i could have had a differnt learning experience.
All I can say is my years in school have done their damage to me psychologically and to this day I'm still living a life that many would not consider worth living. I eventually got my GED but avoided going to college for fear of being teased on and bullied during my school days. And when I see all these people who I grew up with on Facebook, it makes me think that I might as well just be dead to them. Kids can be cruel, and it only seems to be getting worst these days.
I'm sorry to hear that so many people had bad school experiences that caused them to drop out. I'm in grad school for accounting right now (I'm 23), and I'm not necessarily "passionate" about accounting, but... I don't know, I've always loved school and I've always been an academic and goal-oriented person. Even after I get my Master's, I know I'm going to miss school and I'll likely go back again for one reason or another.
I skipped some months in elementary school (8year version) and high school (4year version) because everyone was a goddamn bully. Now I'm in uni/college and I met only nice people and haven't skipped a day since.

I also recieved the Highest score in my STATE. Got a personal Letter from my Essay Reader saying it was hands down the Best Essay he had ever had the Pleasure of reading and Scoring. I missed perfect 800's in EVERY subject across the board, by ONE wrong question in mathematics by messing up on my answer sheet....I dropped out when I was only 15 by the way.....Dropping Out of School has no relevance nor is a display of Intelligence or Lack thereof. Hell Yes! That's what I'm talking about, I was actually forced to drop out pretty much by my corrupt local school board. For my style, long hair, laid back, loving life. I got Great Grades, maintained a 4.0 or better, yet because I was a "longhair" I was being FORCED to SIGN A CONTRACT, saying I was subject to Random Urinalysis, In School Suspension when the Principal Wanted....I fought this with the Board, they wouldnt see my case. I now have a GED.

Dropping out of school can have several reasons. But whatever reason it is that makes you quit school, consider that it might not be more important than your entire future. I mean, there are people out there who dropped out of school to start something different, and yes, they did fight and actually made their way to something. Then again there are also people who just got to nowhere in life. I'd say if you want to chase your dreams, at least go for a low academic level, but don't end up wit non

Education of course is important. Though I believe it's a whole different ball game when you live in a house hold with just one parent usually mother because some fathers are pieces of shit unless otherwise, and bills are piling up. I understand that. But other than that dropping out is dumb.

I left school because the education system is fucked. I believe that i can now educate myself. If someone will not give me a job because i don't have a piece of paper which states that i am qualified then they can get fucked. I'd rather learn what i want and think for myself. I would only suggest this in rare circumstances though, the present and future generations of children are FUCKED, they need all of the education they can get.

What high school kids need to know is, when it comes to the "real world" they only see what they show on t.v and you can't necessarily trust t.v. They think they had it hard in high school? Goddamn, they should ask their parents whether or not THEY would choose high school over the real world, I bet more than half of them would say they wished they were back in high school. But seriously, I had really low self-esteem and I think I might have gone through depression during those times, although I was too ashamed to talk about my problems and get therapy. So I doubt I could feel as bad as I did then, so long as I feel good about who I am. But I guess it could be worse, on another level...

@Marievska My depression stemmed mostly through being screwed over relationship after relationship. I got cheated on, dumped, and talked shit to from almost every one of my ex girlfriends, save for a few who weren't VERY psychotic, and one who was completely normal. Then one of my ex's thought it would be funny to spread a rumor that I raped her (why she picked me, I know not to this day)
Needless to say, I've felt the lowest forms of depression and near insanity, but I'm doing better now.

My grandfather chased me and my father out of his home with a shot gun (where we lived at the time). You can understand why we packed up and moved. 5 hours away. I went to a private school, we owed them money, my dad was waiting on his taxes to come back to pay them off, we got to my new school, I had turned 17 a week before, the woman said "we are not required to enroll you because your 17" and by the time taxes came back it would be to late to enroll. So I was forced to drop out.

I considered it because the institutional aspect turns me off. I like having energy of the individual rather than the lessened energy of superiors. However, I realized that my goal in like is to steward the universe and the most most efficient way of doing that is with a quality education.

Ya im 15 and I completely agree. Of course when I was little and first started playing guitar I thought of becoming famous but once I turned 13 I realized thats not going to happen. But now I plan on getting my grade 12 and working 2 years after school then heading of to another cooking school but if that fails then I plan to work with heavy equipement because I already have knowledge and experience with it and I also enjoy using it.

In fact, my friend took the GED test and passed and he got his diploma in the mail and it said "High School Diploma" its another of way of earning your high school diploma. I go to the high school Mary J. Blige went to. For those who don't know, she dropped out and became famous, rich, etc.. About three years ago, she came in, gave a speech about how you shouldn't drop out (even though she did and became famous) to the children in the school least likely to drop out.

All I can say is my years in school have done their damage to me psychologically and to this day I'm still living a life that many would not consider worth living. I eventually got my GED but avoided going to college for fear of being teased on and bullied during my school days. And when I see all these people who I grew up with on Facebook, it makes me think that I might as well just be dead to them. Kids can be cruel, and it only seems to be getting worst these days.

I'm in grad school for accounting right now (I'm 23), and I'm not necessarily "passionate" about accounting, but... I don't know, I've always loved school and I've always been an academic and goal-oriented person. Even after I get my Master's, I know I'm going to miss school and I'll likely go back again for one reason or another.

Middle school - Learned quite a bit, and had the best friends and the BEST times ever.

You get suspended for stupid shit.(got suspended for 4 days, for wearing a hat) Student teacher called the office saying I was smoking pot in front of her in class. Bitch, I don't smoke shit. :\
