Quick question, do you know if there is anything i can put in place of the MAX153? digikey has a DIP Chip for 20 some dollars!!! its crazy for a chip i thought... but not really sure
I never made a schematic, sorry. It's really quite simple and between the description I wrote and the datasheet for the Maxim MAX153 you'll probably be able to make something similar.
I think any modern 8-bit 5.0v parallel ADC would work as long as it has an enable pin.
