  • why it doesnt surprise me that i see "arrow in the knee" jokes?

  • That Crossbow Arrow Hit Me In The Knee

  • chatooo

  • it goes so slow XD

  • HOW DOES CROSSBOW WORKS?

  • 34 people got hit by a crossbow OOOOOOOOH I AM SO COOL CAUSE THIS IS MY FIRST COMMENT OF A ' X people got ...' :D hahaha

  • i don't need that shit i have my M21 Sniper rifle ;)

  • I now know how to design the trigger and wunch mech. Thanks.

  • Now i know how to design the trigger mech for a winch operated crossbow. Thanks.

  • what a bunch of loser showing this!

  • wor can you flexiebel wood shopen for crossbow/

  • whoo

  • wow very nice video :)

  • @milano007100

Yeah dude real crossbow strings aren't elastic it's only the bow that is supposed to bend

  • gay try my paper crossbow

  • sorry men but i aim not stupit i know how a rubber band works

  • 32 osoby mają IQ mniejsze od deski kolzetowej :)

  • right. now figure out how to make it...

  • i watched this naked..

  • @douwefireworks To much info...

  • i watched this naked..

  • The crank is a nice alternative to the primitive "foot loop" style of pulling back the bow, but it's still inefficient.

Of course, no one cares about making it better, since it's all about rifles now.

  • @CommanderCooper With the foot loop you still have to pull the full weight. The crank has an arm about 5 times at long as the diameter of the spool. What means, according to the laws of phisics, you only need 20% power to 'arm' it. This way you can obviously make and arm much stronger crossbows.

  • @RyuRiku It still takes forever to crank. But I guess that's not a huge concern in this field.

  • @CommanderCooper It's allways the best to reload as quick as piossible, but for a strong crossbow there's just not an easy solution

  • @RyuRiku Guess that's why it became obsolete in war... Eh, what else is there to do?

  • @CommanderCooper There's 3 more as far as II know.

    - The first is pretty much the same as this, but it has 2 handles on the crank, so you can use both of your arms for arming even stronger crossbows.

    - the second is also a bit like this, it has a metal piece with teeth on the side and the crank has gears inside. It's a bit hard to explain. It's called a cranequin.

    - the third is for 'medium strength' crossbows only. It makes use of a lever. there's a push version and a pull version.

  • @RyuRiku Actually, the "What else is there to do?" was rhetorical. But thanks.

  • @CommanderCooper Oh, sorry. English isn't my first language, so I got it wrong :p

  • @RyuRiku Really? You type it really well.

  • @CommanderCooper Well, it IS the world language.

  • in this days.NO?

  • i get killed before i kill lol

  • ahh yes just wat i needed

  • thats cool

and it dose help me because iv'e been tring to make a loking mecanisom for ages

    thanks

    jojo11180

  • cool cool

  • thts vlad dracula the 3rd's steal cross bow

  • oh my god of all the 28 seconds ive wasted before in my life on youtube this has got to be the worst.

  • Thanks bozar88, this really helped me as I am making a crossbow but didn't have a proper plan of how to cock it.

  • cool cool coooooooooool!!

  • Hey you had an actual xbow as model ? i cannot find nothing how the firing mechanism in the inside works ....

  • fix the vid man there is this spinning thing

  • you would be dead by the time its loaded

  • lol!!!!!!!!1

  • love it

  • theres alot of kind of trigger mechanism.

  • Isn't this sort of how the balistae worked? I tihnk they were to large that they needed a crank such as that to pull back the string. Anyways, nice animation.

  • @gunzgamer123 normal crossbows used a crank to. whit a iron handled at the end. to put your foot in.

no way to get the string back els.

even through english longbows was better XP

  • Stara karmi cie z kuszy....

  • Beautiful.

  • sweet i think i figured out how to make this crossbow by watching this video so thanks for posting it

  • it's very simple

  • wat kind of bow are you talking about?

  • CROSSBOW

  • i need to make one for protection i might also make a bow and arrow for backup too

  • i dont understand what the point of this video is or how it possibly got 146,000 views

  • 158,500

  • 158,700

  • @lakotamo 1. It shows you how to use a crossbow.

    2. u jelly bro?

  • Comment removed

  • dude thats an arbalest crossbow

  • Comment removed

  • well you noob its not a rope

  • hahah i think your a "noob" also it is called a bow-string made from flax or hemp

  • @m82a150 it is also made of sinew noob

  • you could but the ones built like that can be more powerfull cuz you aint got to be as strong to pull it back

  • theres like three huundred pounds of pressure

  • Some people use Cross bows instead of A rifle when they hunt, thats beacuse the cross bow can shot through the head of a deer! Try shooting a deer in the good spot of the head, and watch the Blood and stuff Fly away!

  • Douche bag

  • you have never been and hunt.....

  • and cross bows are more quiet then a rifel

  • why would it matter if its quiet or not????

  • detection

  • thats horrible

  • A rifle can shoot trough the head of a deer and there will be brains and blood all over the place too.

  • cool thanks for the vid

  • ohh em ge

  • Thanks Mr. WIzard! now I can go kill sumptin

  • i'm trying to make a crossbow myself and i'm wondering, i know the "string" pushes the bolt but dont you think it might miss? just saying is it acually the "string that pushes it? or does the bolt clip in like an bow+arrow??

  • to answer your question the bolt dose not lock in there is something called a bolt cover plate or a bolt catch which doesnot allow the string to slip so it has to go into the bolt . if you dont know what these look like look iot up it will help. and without it yes the crosbow can miss the bolt but not very often.

  • u know hoe they hold one end eith there foot? if the let go will they kill their foot?

  • that is a different type of crossbow which is weaker, so there isnt a wind up thing on them

  • Thanks, this video helped alot!

  • 5/5 a może byś pokazał jak to zrobić hehe

  • dude are you retarded when you shoot a cross bow with a wind lass you take it off before you shoot

  • Please correct me, am I at some stage in mediaeval warfare due to it potency?

  • i want to know more about how the trigger works and nice animation btw

  • What software tools did you use for this animation?

  • Nice!!

now i can kill my neighbor

    5/5

  • Im in the same disposition

as you, i have a bunch of

    noisy, provoking, italians I need

    to get rid of.

  • lolz.. i hear ya!

  • @Spiderweb0Marketing I have a mexican problem >:D

  • @Spiderweb0Marketing suck. my. ball.... S

  • @Spiderweb0Marketing thats kinda offensive.

  • @Spiderweb0Marketing only kill them if they don't cook you food

  • @BadWayAssasins I wouldn't be surprised if you actually meant it lol.

  • @BadWayAssasins haha nice

  • @BadWayAssasins let me guess, your neighbour is ned flanders...

  • now i can make one!!!

  • i read somewhere that those things are capable of smashing an elephants skull.

  • i never really undestrand how a crossbow works.. Thank for the video!

  • Please note that crossbows that required a windlass to draw use a spring steel prod (bow)

  • the are many other spanning devices than can draw a spring steel prod

  • awesom, ive seen one of those shoot an over cooked jacket potatos over 600 yards and smash down a brick wall

  • omg

  • nice job man;)

  • pretty sweet

  • nice thxs for idear

  • r u using 3dsm? u got to buy, dont u? pm plz

  • awesome 3d animation:) good work

u show slow, that will u come long with

  • good work, itsgood coz its slow and realistic

  • all now that

  • Did you use 3ds max to make this?

  • yes, 3dsmax and the default renderer

  • that is nice!!!!!! what did you use for the

trigger and why did that lever thing just suddenly go back when it was fineshed pulling the string back??????(at:0:14- 0:15)???

    plz mail my acct.

  • Not many crossbows have a windlass, some have stirrups to draw the string back.

  • wtf was that???

  • thats not how it works

  • lol...

  • This is a Windlass loader You can fire about 3 or 4 bolts every 60 seconds with that; this is way way more powerful then the others as well...

Also they had a Cranequin loader I think is faster then the Windlass loader and maybe more powerful!

Your average European Crossbow can fire farther then 300 meters!

The Arbalest was the strongest crossbow ever made...

I think the Arbalest farther then 500 meters!

  • what's a meter?

  • LOL a meter is 1 Kilometer :1000= 1 meter.... its in europe... if u dont know what a kilometer is: its a 0,6 mile

  • 1 meter= 100 cm

  • "it's in europe" um ye i believe its around the world 'cept in the U.S. you might also want to mention that its called the metric system

  • in the international system is a distance unit, its = to 100 cms wich is 3 feet and 4 inches...its "international system" but in the US still using their own, that makes problems with the rest of the world that does use it.

  • well, u know that we're switching to international right? ten years ago, engliand was just like us. Using the English Customary system. The change was gradual but look at them now.

  • i didnt know,that will be a good change

  • This is a loader You can fire about 3 or 4 bolts every 60 seconds with that; this is way way more powerful then the others as well...

Also the had a with a Cranequin loader I think is faster and maybe more powerful!

Your average European Crossbow can fire farther then 300 meters!

  • takes so long to load

  • yup but it can pierce a knight's armor and you need almost no training to use it,thats why it was so good in middleages

  • ye, but it was slow to reload, and many people looked at it as being a cheap way to kill someone or something since it took no skill

  • the real problem was that "poor" ppl was able of killing knights for first time...that was the reason that made the church prohibit its use...imagine an army of farmers with crossbows killing a charge of knights, the social order would fall

  • yup then guns made it so that armour was obsolete

  • that bitch probably takes like 60 seconds to reload cause you have to wind it

  • Looks like a European Crossbow...

  • %VC%V%B%%CNM^ MM^

  • According to my calculations, and these are just preliminary at the moment, the hooking mechanism on this device would tilt back when pulled in such a manner, and the string would slip out from underneath rendering the cross bow useless.

And placing the user in great peril from the intended target.

  • For the love of god, he was just explaining how does it basically work, he was not trying to render an exact simulation of a crossbow.

  • Thank you for making this clear to me, i thought he was going to mass produce this item and i only thought it pertinent to point out the flaws in the design.

Oh how foolish i must seem, i think i will go away and hang myself, oh the shame, the shame.

  • dude u sound like a nerd or sum lonley guy that hangs him self for no reason lol

  • And you sound like someone who cannot think for himself, and uses words like dude, because its what everyone else uses.

And by the way there is nothing wrong with being a nerd, the people who have devised this catapult would probably have be seen as nerdish, and if that is the case what are you doing here, are you a wanna be nerd perhaps, without the IQ.

  • *cough* geek *cough*

  • lmao!

  • ..yeah

  • fergawdsache your a know-it-all. you dont give the visual idea of being cool or even someone who i would want to be in the same room with.

  • Im all broken up by your comment, in fact i`m devastated,

So i`ll never be able to share a room with a dork, big deal.

Do you seriously think i`m going to stop and say, wow, captain cool has just entered this debate and shown me what a dildo i`ve been, from now on i`ll shut up and stop being so dorkey.

Or do you think i will think, what a tosser, some little brat, Desperately trying to impress other teenagers with his pathetic attempts at a put down.

    clue,(it`s not the first option)

  • the winding thing is called a windlass

  • i never heard its that technical!!! kewl!

  • Interesting. I've heard of crossbows loading with winches before, but I've never seen one.

  • always good to know =)

  • Sweet.
