i wanted to make one in my basement and make it a winter summer chill out the pool i have has a slide i gunna make it a water fall tring to figure out how to get the rocks to stay without using glue unless they have glue i could use
i did teh same thing but not with that filter i put a layer of sand on teh bottom for biological bedding and then fine pea gravel, larger gravel for the fish then i got a bunch of pond plants such at lillies and etc, and i spray painted the outside black soo it looks like a real pond, it has a filter, pump in it and to tell you the truth it looks really good
My camera is being repaired but what I did was take the pump out of a intex pool filter. If you dont have one you can order a pump off ebay and get a good deal. I used a shoe box size bin and fixed the pump to the top with the screws. Then I cut a hole in the side where the output was and fixed a piece of pvc (actually mine was a bit of UGF) for the water to flow through. Then just drill some holes in the lid and fill the box with media (postscrubbers, rocks ect)
In all honesty the the intex filter would have done just as well by submerging it into the pond and not going to all that trouble. All you need for that is a fresh pack of filters . :) I took down the pond a few weeks after setting it up because the birds were eating the goldfish.
I am going to have another go at building one soon out of a huge intex pool someone trashed after the inflatable ring popped. I'll be building a wood frame and attaching a sump system to it in some way that I havent planned out yet. lol
