its true, though, friend, in buddhist philosphy. for buddhists, spirit/soul/conciousness dwelling within men n women r same. Because we believe in reincarnation, we say women can become buddha also since everyone,if enough effort has been put in, can become enlightened. however,various social/traditional beliefs say one must come back as man to become buddha. but that is according anything except buddhist philosphy.

i can absolutely sure that this movie was filmed in malaysia, perak. I can tell by the building at 3.50, it's amazing how they re-create the landscape surrounding the building. The lawn was never like that. Its very shrub and bushy. I was like 7-8 years old at that time.
