I was born and raised in Karnes City...not too terribly far from Cuero. This brought back memories. Additionally, I cried when Kuralt died...loved him as a journalist..even if he did have a second family on the side.
I think that was part of his charm. He had that devilish, southern grin. I liked him because he was mean and bitter like many straight shooters in the journalist profession, then and now with the exception of Tim Russert.
This was 7 Years before Charles Kuralt Hosted "CBS News Sunday Morning".

He (Charles Kuralt) pretty much looked the same then as he did in, let's say, 1991 or in 1997 when he passed away.
