The reason MMA > boxing right now has nothing to do with the sports themselves, it's the scumbag promoters and system behind boxing. 300 weight classes, 14 different organizations giving belts and top fighters refusing to fight each other.

In the UFC, Pacman vs Mayweather not only would have happened by now, but we'd probably have had a rematch as well.

If you want to fix boxing, you need to fix the system that runs it. The sport itself is fine.

You can't compare boxing to MMA. It's two completely different sports, a boxer would destroy a MMA fighter in boxing and an MMA fighter would own the ground game in an MMA match. Neither is "worse" than the other, there is just different rules and styles to each sport.

I merely showed that each is a different sport and if you either doesn't train for that sport then the other will win.

@ironman145614 Come on dude, be real. Being undefeated as a boxer doesn't necessarily mean you are good. Yes, some skills in boxing are also compatible with MMA. Few MMA fighters would do well in a real Muay Thai match against a skilled Muay Thai fighter. You can't really say Muay Thai as a whole is part of MMA when some Muay Thai techniques aren't legal in all MMA.

You realistically shouldn't even compare Muay Thai to K1 either.

@ironman145614 Someone who excels at Muay Thai may not necessarily excel in MMA. Not losing ever? You mean the difference between being undefeated and beating the best in their prime, like Ali? There is a reason people question Joe Calzaghe's undefeated record yet Ali is frequently called the greatest of all time.

As far as I'm aware, Diaz had one pro boxing match. He must be really good. I also should add, his opponent had his pro debut that match. Don't exaggerate Diaz' boxing abilities.

@ironman145614 I do agree with what you are saying. Anderson Silva is a great striker and could probably compete in K1. But Anderson Silva is also not an average MMA fighter, at the moment fighters such as Silva are the exception. I am anticipating Overeem's next K1 appearance, but don't think realistically that he could win the entire GP.

An average MMA fighter should technically own the ground if facing a disciplined boxer. It's just the amount of experience each possesses.
