The demo version is only a sample and a short gameplay of the full game. There's only about 2 levels you can play in demos and thats it. Demo's are made to show what the game makers have made so far and give it to people to see what is going on with the game.

Why not? In the demo version of Left 4 Dead 2, you play in The Parish, the last campaign on the full game. You start off with a pistol and you have to collect ammo, health, weapons (including Melee weapons), etc. You have to fight through the first chapter (or level) which has a name that I'm not sure what it is named. It only takes about 5-10 minutes to get to the next safe room. Then After that you will go through the last chapter for the demo, called "The Park".
