(2) Their main advantage is motivation, if they have that at all. In my honors classes, the majority of the kids will admit that they are only there because their parents are making them, or because they are scared witless of not getting into a "good" college. While I think you are correct about HIGHLY MOTIVATED students, I do not think that you are correct about GIFTED students.

Excuse me if I do not know the full story, but an honors class doesn't equal a "gifted" class. You need to do a bit more research. While I am not saying that an honors class is full of stupid kids, because that's obviously not true, with my experience in regular and honors classes, I find that while the honors kids are sometimes smarter, not always, than the regular CP kids.
