My cousin was like 13 and his parents worked so my parents basically babysat him I was like 8 and he brought this over. It was the first video game I was ever able to beat. I was never good at video games (Im still terrible) but I love this game and I love the music. Even the rap was good. :)

This was the first game I got with my playstation 2, I still play it to this date.

I've played with the online community since day one, seeing people come and go.

simpily, this was the beats game I've ever played.

I wish they would remake this for the PS3 or xbox360, with the same exact everything, just because I'd like to see people playing this game again.

This game was also around the 5th most sold game the year it came out.

Great review for an amazing game, I'll never forget it.

I hope they go back to controls, bring back freak out's, create-a-board, create-a-park, and be able to change the pro's clothing like thps 1-4. After THUG, The Tony Hawk's Series became worse and worse. In my Opinion, THUG is the Best part, because it has a cool story, nice levels, the trick animations looked nicer than THUG 2 and afterwards, and i have a lot of memories with this game, it was the first, i played on my new xbox 2002. :D

@ShadowzGamer Thanks for the support bro. To answer your question: You can use analogue sticks (I think), But I don't ever use them for TH games because I find them too inaccurate. You could beat the game with them, but it's WAY better to use the d-pad.

I beated THUG,today. I dont care that everyone beat the game before me,because in 2010 i didnt even knew about Tony hawk games (NO joke) only in this year i found out about this game,it took me about three days because i spend most of my time freeroaming. It took me a bit longer to beat the final level and i couldnt beat "the private eye" mission,but since i didnt watch the cutscene of the first level, i couldnt find the stickers but after 1 try i beat that mission,then after the final mission

@6425gorda of that chapter then freeroamed a bit then started beating the other challenge's without freeroaming (ok i did a bit) then it took me about 1 hour to complete the chapter before the final one. The final challenge took me about 10 or 20 tries,i think 20. Then i finaly beat that last and final challenge of the game. But where the f*** is iron man? Is he only a ps2 unlockable or something? Or i HAVE to get all the secret tapes?

@IloveIbanez Tbh, I never played the online portion of the game because I didn't have the ethernet cable etc. I did however play the game split screen and that was a ton of fun. I would assume the online play is similar to split screen, maybe with more lag. But from what I've heard, it was pretty good.

Awesome review of also one of my favorite games of all time. It's also one of the games I've played the most till date, clocking in an insane ammount of time.

Too bad activision dropped the ball so hard with Project 8. While THUG2 and THAW were not superior to THUG1, they were still very worthy aditions to the franchise. It seems like they were trying to achieve realism, but in the process forgot what it is to have fun. I wish the series could be revived into what it was in the old days.

Add more characters, tricks, levels, add newer generation consoles, etc. And go back to controllers instead of the damn annoying motion sensor boards that don't do any tricks you want to!!!! I agree. After Underground I saw no reason to play other skateboarding games. I was like wtf!!! WHY DOES THU2 suck!! The first was sooo much fun. I amde so many maps and not just for skateboarding... some of the funnest king other hill stuff with crazy good maps involving lavan and water blah blah... just fun to play with friends. My game is too scrateched to work now but that's one of the few games I would never sell unless for a lot of money... I guess I'd sell it for $40 and up....

@GpB217 cmon THUG 2 didn't suck. It's just it wasn't a Tony Hawk game but rather a Jackass game. Plus the game engine didn't improve (unless you count the repeatedly press triangle after bailing). THAW was ok, unrealistic but so much fun. THP8 removed the unrealism and focused on the basics. THPG tried to be realistic and fun but ended up doing neither.

I am so glad you made this video. This is probably one of my favourite games of all time. I played through that story mode at LEAST 10 times, and spent countless hours of my life playing online. There was nothing more fun than finding glitches with people I didn't know online.

Oh, and I'd always save before the helicopter cut scene, so I could go back and watch it again. So epic.

My favourite Tony Hawk game. The story was excellent and the soundtrack was the best. I'm just like you I don't usually like rap or hip hop but I actually liked the songs in this game. The rock and punk was top notch too.
