@JamesBrett2008 Thats right James. The occasion was my Daughter's (in the red dress) wedding reception at the Fairness hotel on the top of the cliff. The photographer took this lovely picture that I fell in love with. The original miniature is hanging on her living room wall. Best regards Colin.
@JayLilia Thank you for your interest. I use my own grid system ('Square Drawing Pack', can be found on my website) to draw out my line drawings then transfer them to pastel paper using a black carbon. This gives a more accurate drawing than by freehand. Best regards Colin.
Yes, Romance is a great topic. How about a pic with parents, kids and of course the family dog(s) walking on the beach, next to a river, in the forest? Off topic: do other members of your family paint?
I love your smooth paper. My paper is so rough abd leaves weird little stains. I have the same pencils as you but it's hard with the paper. My friend on facebook also have a nice smooth paper. I have to search for it.
@colin1940 The paper I use is sand coloured 160 gram Ingres pastel paper, do try to find it as it makes such a difference. We do sell it on my website if it helps. Best regards Colin.
@arneduym I have given this picture to my Daughter as a present, only fair as it is of her and her husband on their wedding day. But it does look like I am going to be under pressure to do more of them. Best regards Colin.

Could you show us how you sketch the outline on the painting before you start filling in with the pastel pencils? Thank you.
