The people that work in radioshacks in LA are really big assholes. I had to split some audio for my tv and I was looking to buy audio splitters. And so I ask him and he asks for what, I say for tv. And im sure hes not supposed to but he starts yelling and getting mad why Im using splitters when I could buy a 400 dollar tv tuner or w/e to control audio and he got mad at me for why do I want to split audio for my tv. Fuck RS's they all began to go downhill since money whores began owning them.

hello i worked at radio shack for 4 years it used to be great. then they at the time Tandy corp. switched everything to radioshack and slowly turned the place into a cell phone store. by the time it was done what a great place radio shack was had become a cafe mocha cell phone store with a few a faint shadow of what made the place radio shack and now there even trying to dich the name now its "the shack" ?????? what happened! hopefully some day they will return to there roots, one can only hope

No one at my store wants RSSPs when I offer, just about everyone has Verizon (which we don't carry anymore), and there wasn't anything to do. Tags were up, there was no RMAC, and I lost out on a PS3 sale bc a coworker stole my customer.

Also usually we are that bored in the store...just waiting for customers to come in or keep up the store or make new tags if we're not busy.....to walk around with a tag gun to correct prices or tags that went missing because of a customer using them to write something down >_> (over 200 tags) There were always some stupid contest with people who didnt want to vacuum up the place at night. Everyday it was always something else...
The main thing for Radioshack employees now to do was to sell Postpaid (contract) and prepaid phones. OH yeah and to try to rip you off with service plans. Now Im not saying that the warranty didnt come in handy at times but they're only good for big items (LCD's, Laptops and etc.) not small stuff like a freaking memory card!
Jade when you buy it on the memory card it's not a replacement plan... its a memory card upgrade plan. You buy the plan and in a year you dump the information, send the card back saying it got corrupted, they send you a gift card for the purchase price. You go back to radioshack and buy a card double the size.
yeahhh but are you REALLY going to go through all of that just to HOPEFULLY get a gift card? As I remember they sometimes "forget" to send you one or never send the shipping labels to send the product back because now they have it as you have to send the item back.
Actually Radioshack is really worried about their image & BBB ratings right now and aren't screwing around anymore. Ive been with them for 2 years and haven't ever had a problem with it. My friends and me came up with the idea when I first got there. So far 5 of my friends are in the program and I replaced their 4 gig thumb drives with 8 gig thumb drives like 2 months ago.

I worked at a Radio Shack (back when it had a space in the name) in the late 1980's. When did the dress code go away? We had to wear suits back then! Ah, fun days. I dressed better to work retail than I have had to at any of my high end jobs since...!

I worked at Radio Shack several years ago and that is exactly what it is like. I remember 1 day, we had a total of 6 customers come in all day. we made about $16. Needless to say, that store is no longer open.

The retired folk that come in are basically afraid of technology, but we're still required to make cell phone sales. It amazes me that stores are held to a single sales standard instead of being based on the demographics of the area. Timefighters don't buy cell phones, Fort Worth! Sheesh.

Also sunday mornings until 12, nobody comes in, and yep, I just watch movies, or listen to sirius until we start getting customers. BTW to all who would say I'm lazy, We just opened black friday. We had 10 days to set up every gondola, peg, shelf, and put out 642 boxes of stock. Everything in that store is perfect and where it goes. So there is really nothing to do!

Also usually we are that bored in the store...just waiting for customers to come in or keep up the store or make new tags if we're not busy.....to walk around with a tag gun to correct prices or tags that went missing because of a customer using them to write something down >_> (over 200 tags) There were always some stupid contest with people who didnt want to vacuum up the place at night. Everyday it was always something else...

The main thing for Radioshack employees now to do was to sell Postpaid (contract) and prepaid phones. OH yeah and to try to rip you off with service plans. Now Im not saying that the warranty didnt come in handy at times but they're only good for big items (LCD's, Laptops and etc.) not small stuff like a freaking memory card!

Jade when you buy it on the memory card it's not a replacement plan... its a memory card upgrade plan. You buy the plan and in a year you dump the information, send the card back saying it got corrupted, they send you a gift card for the purchase price. You go back to radioshack and buy a card double the size.

Actually Radioshack is really worried about their image & BBB ratings right now and aren't screwing around anymore. Ive been with them for 2 years and haven't ever had a problem with it. My friends and me came up with the idea when I first got there. So far 5 of my friends are in the program and I replaced their 4 gig thumb drives with 8 gig thumb drives like 2 months ago.

Worst job i ever had, the pay sucked, no one ever came in to shop, and we had a new manager every 6 months so the DM could keep his job.
Still, it was fun getting minium wage playing Xbox all day when the manage left at noon. I guess it took up time till i got a real job

I worked at Radio Shack several years ago and that is exactly what it is like. I remember 1 day, we had a total of 6 customers come in all day. we made about $16. Needless to say, that store is no longer open.

01-3192 Rancho Bernardo, CA here. We're located in a strip mall in a retirement community, and even tho we're open to 9pm, business pretty much dies at 6. The retired folk that come in are basically afraid of technology, but we're still required to make cell phone sales. It amazes me that stores are held to a single sales standard instead of being based on the demographics of the area. Timefighters don't buy cell phones, Fort Worth! Sheesh.

LOL this is great! I was watching this at my store today and lmao. My store is a day store, so after 7 it's just like this. Also sunday mornings until 12, nobody comes in, and yep, I just watch movies, or listen to sirius until we start getting customers. BTW to all who would say I'm lazy, We just opened black friday. We had 10 days to set up every gondola, peg, shelf, and put out 642 boxes of stock. Everything in that store is perfect and where it goes. So there is really nothing to do!
