  • THUMBS DOWN gigantibyte COMMENT IT DOES NOT DESERVE TO BE A TOP COMMENT!!! it takes critical thinking to work in the criminal justice and law field.

  • Aren't zoos having money problems feeding their lions and tigers I have idea for a pay per view show and would help states economy feed them to the lions, tigers or bears and let people pay to watch. I know I would pay $10 to see it.

  • the 1 drug should have been gasoline

    :)

  • I think the people that did this to my brother deserve to be stripped of their human rights and forced into slavery. Their acts were animalistic therefore their punishment should be to be treated like the animals they are.

  • My bro was shot 5 times (once in the head, once in the leg, once in the arm and twice in the chest), cut from one end of his neck to the next, and was run over with a car. All in the same night by the same 3 people. They did it to murder him, but little do they know he is still alive and doing very well! The fuckers have gone into hiding and lets just say they will be lucky if the police catch them.

  • less painful? these fuckers should be tortured

  • "An eye for an eye will make the whole world blind" - Mahatma Gandhi

  • one hell of a fuckin high before dying...like taken 8 shots of meth at once...

  • Dont wanna be executed? Dont break the laws/end somone elses life/ruine others lives.

  • Kenneth Biros was dubbed the "Crybaby Killer" by the press in Trumbull County and it was one of the most gruesome crimes in our counties history and IF my memory serves me proper I believe him and Jason Getsy and Danny Lee Hill are the only high profile murder defendants not offered a plea bargain.

  • there are some crimes that the only jusice is is the Death Penalty and jail is not in option

  • PEOPLE ARE FUKING SLAVE@IGNORANT+ARROGANT=$=REPTILIANS SNAKE

  • Why not use life in solitary without the possibility of parole? That would be way worse than falling asleep under a needle.

  • does anyone not see the absurdity in all of this?!?!

Execution is, in it's simplest terms, state-sanctioned killing, and it devalues the respect we place on human life; how can we say that killing is wrong if we sanction killing criminals?

  • then y do they always fight it

  • I don't understand putting people to death is punishment because it just ends their life to me its just a easy way out they need to punished until they die naturally then u know u made them suffer right up too the end. What's interesting u nr hear abt the cases where pple have been sent to death ad yet they nr did the crime they were committed of which there r quite a few cases that's why I think the justice system in the us is untrustworthy hence why we never sent the computer hacker over to us

  • I'm not necessarily for capital punishment , but this method of execution affects both the person on the gurney ALOT ( possiblilty of slow torture) and at same time it affects the victim(s) of the deseased. It's a no win situation for both sides.

  • 2/2 I think i said it backwards....what an irony that nobody knows whether or not the Na drug was administered non-effectively so as to make the criminal suffer or if it WAS administered properly (ie the sodium drug) and put the bastard to sleep and not feel any pain. What i cannot undrstand is why they bother administering the second drug i,e to render the person helpless and not be able to express his or her own emotions. What kind of a death penalty is that?

  • @007MOORER The 3-drug cocktail is based on anaesthesia. The first 2 drugs are given to you in operations (or at least they used to be; propofol is now commonly used for induction) because muscle twitching would occur on the operating table, which is no good for the surgeon. So someone had the bright idea of just using the same procedure on executees, with some added KCl at the end. What they didn't factor in was maintenance of anaesthesia. So, like the electric chair, they screwed it up.

  • What an irony that nobody knows whether or not the Na thiopental drug which was administered was really effective enough 'overeffective' i.e to relieve the victim (on the gurney) from his or her agony or if it WASN'T administered enough to relieve the victim (family of the murdered i,e to say ) and have justice finally served; which is what they want which is to have the criminal suffer for teh crime he committed.

  • i am against capital punishment for a variety of reasons. If someone -god forbid- killed and tortured a person close to me, or anyone for the matter, i'd rather see them spend their life in jail, deprived of society and freedom. Death after all, comes for everybody eventually...

  • Comment removed

  • I don't understand how is possible to die slowly and agonizingly after dosage of three drugs combination. After the first one (sodium thiopental) the inmate promptly falls to unconsciousness and since then he can't feel anything.

  • @Ondrus21 sometimes not enough of the first drug is used. the last drug is what will cause the agony if the anesthesia isn't in full effect.

  • @joshatkins94 I see, but I've ever thought the grist of 1st drug is 3 times bigger than in the hospital for pacients. The first dose would have to be letal by itself. And if the 1st drug doesn't work, it's nonsense to aplicate the 2nd one. 2nd substance should be aplicated after inmate falls asleep.

  • rock on

  • what a dumb bitch. "didn't suffer enough"? what kind of animalistic bullshit is that? so instead of studying these criminals and experimenting on them to actually LEARN something from this tragedy and possibly help prevent it from happening again, these morons share the same bloodthirst as the killer and only care about causing more harm.

they're worse than the killer. people like that should be removed from society and forced to live with all the other unevolved animals.

  • "Rock on!"

  • @enuvune You probably wouldn't feel the same if it was a relative of yours............ Tammie Engstrom was murdered after being raped and dismembered and her body was spread across three counties. I am no supporter of capital punishment but if there was ever a case that deserved it................

  • i've had several of my family members murdered, which makes me want them to study WHY they murder even more so this random violent bullshit could STOP.

  • @enuvune several? where do you live? south side of chicago?

  • @my74junker my brother was almost murdered. He was shot 5 times, stabbed and run over with a car. The death penalty wouldn't be enough punishment for the people that nearly killed him if they did kill him. I am opposed to the death penalty for various other reasons, but quite frankly I would rather see these people tortured for life. The people that did this to him are still at large, and I can only hope for karma. The police have given up and these shitheads did what they did to MURDER my bro!

  • Wow, look at him. Personally, I would have pegged him as a pedophile, but I would be wrong. He raped and dismembered Tami Engstrom in some satanic sexual mutilation ceremony.

They found her head and legs all over the woods.

They never found her reproductive organs, which he cut out of her as well.

  • Good, this will save money in the long run, hate to see them wasting an extra syringe when one will do.

  • Anyone that feels even the slightest hint of remorse for the inmate should have to watch a full length reenactment of the crime. I seriously doubt they would still feel 'sorry' for the murderer being executed.

  • what is wrong with firing squad?

    what about hanging?

    what about beheading?

    what about rocks and sticks?

There are so many options. This country is in decay when they worry about the dam killer.

  • @jethromayham ..."when they worry about the dam killer".

Welcome to the world of the ACLU.

  • @jethromayham Stoning is Somalia, beheading is Saudi Arabia, hanging is Washington and New Hampshire, and firing squad is Utah.

  • You fucking fagot.

Their you are trying to help out the criminals like a dumb ass.

yet you say nothing when our navy seals are being court marshaled for hitting a terrorist in the lips.

Go ahead fagot, protect the villains. Dumb ass.

  • Rock on! LOL

But seriously, wouldn't be better if these criminals are used for Science research to discover and remove Evil genes? I bet inmates would choose that option for sure.

  • There aren't "evil" genes in the way that you might imagine. Most people who have violent tendencies such as this tend to have:

    a) Damage to the frontal part of the brain from a very early stage of life (even from something as common as having their umbilical cord cutting off oxygen for a minute or two before bith) and

    b) Early maternal rejection

Some genes might contribute to impulse control and testosterone, but they aren't directly linked to violent aggression like this.

  • No matter how all of this is presented, the bastard s/b executed without so much fanfare.

In my country, they take them to the wall and shoot at him. An officer than puts one in the head and the body buried in an unmarked grave. If the relatives want the body, they have to pay for excavation.

  • What country would that be?

  • Disneyland my dear, Disneyland.

  • Disneyland is not a country.

  • @mockingarab There was an 1898 NYT op-ed by Dr. Austin Flint opposing the death penalty and saying criminals should be used for research like you said, to find out how to reduce crime. But that was 1898...they were a bit naive then.

  • @mockingarab bit . ly / 8lbd9x

"It is likely to be a difficult task to convince the people, or even the few who think and reason for the people, that criminology is a most useful science; and that the utility of the methods which have brought this science to its present state must be so impressed upon lawmakers and jurists as to produce radical changes in the existing systems of criminal jurisprudence."

    THE PENALTY OF DEATH.

    By DR. AUSTIN FLINT.

    August 7, 1898

  • rock on!

  • That family really should get some counseling. They want more then death>?

What is as sick as that.

  • @2xtream For what he did to their family, laying and falling asleep to never wakeup isn't enough.

I almost understand them. at least let them beat the shit out of him before they just let him go to sleep. So he'll have a short time of knowing.

  • Yes, he must be made to realize what he did.

Any injection method for a killer is too kind.

I see nothing wrong from having the killer slowly torn apart by a team of horses.

  • Sick.

  • even in death humans are not satisfied...

  • it's not about a deterrent. it is because that person has forfeited his/her right to life. who cares about suffering or deterrent. it's about those that steal life having their's taken too.

  • If execution is not a deterant?

    Really?

How many dead people kill again?

  • They don't have to - there are plenty of people left behind who can kill. It's also been shown that crime rates - in particular, murder rates- don't drop at all when the death sentence is made legal. People just don't think about the consequences.

  • Let's go green! We can excavate a hole and just bury the killer alive.

  • @41dccfire The supposed 'deterrent' refers to preventing would-be killers, not preventing people who are already secured in prison (life *without* parole exists for a reason).

  • ROCK ON!!

  • I don't agree with hanging. Public execution should be brought back. Televised at the least. I am not sure that it would be a deterrent for a truly psychotic person. maybe the gang bangers would take a look. Maybe use a guillotine? Quick and pretty much painless instead of face down they should be put on their backs and made to wait 10-15 minutes before the blade falls? just a thought

  • @kantwinnada Public executions haven't occurred since the 1930s, the guillotine was suggested by a Georgia state legislator in the 1990s but rejected.

  • The death penalty has no deterrent effect, but still they keep doing it

  • that's wrong that he's a killer and everything, but that would be awesome if he was like "MWAHAHA FUCK YOU ALL HAHAAAA I GET TO SLEEP MY WAY OUT THIS BITCH!!! OWNED" cuz then he's gonna die anyway, so it's like so what, might as well end it with a bang.

  • In the UK(GB) a lot are in favor of returning to Public Execution (Hanging) as used to happen. I have a Playlist made up from a good Channel, TisrolocNo6 " Execution How To Kill A Human Being 1of 5 by TisrolocNo6 " it makes for interesting debate and consideration, just for info.

  • @reasoning777 ...less than 50% support it.

    bit . ly / ALxwR

"Less than 50pc back death penalty" - The Telegraph

  • Hi, @joshatkins94 I will not dispute that, as I have not researched actual figures which is why I wrote "" a lot "" are in favour - the actual figure will rise and fall, depending on the number of situations that would cause people to give it thought, 49.99% is less than 50% - I am not an advocate of the death penalty the PList by TisrolocNo6 shows the problems and the mistakes that can be made etc glad it's not my call.

  • @reasoning777 okay

  • I wounder if they still used rubbing alcohol on him before they inserted the needle?

  • @ahhyo2006 Yes they do. If there's a last-minute stay, or even a total reprieve, they don't want the executee walking away with an infection.

  • Instead of execution, perhaps murders & rapists could lose their human rights. Let's make slaves out of them so they can repay their debt to society.

  • I agree

  • that would be good but they can't do that because it would be considered cruel and unusual punishment.

  • @gigantibyte Human rights are inalienable, that's why they're called rights.

  • @gigantibyte hm, it sounds like an interesting proposal and it's definately more humane than execution, but slavery has been abolished as a shameful institution (and rightly so). Besides slaves used to run away...

Long sentences should suffice i think. It would be best if the offenders of such serious crimes worked in jail and their earnings (or most of them) were used to compensate the victims or their families.

  • 2. Humane treatment is paramount even with the worst of the crimes. Punishment must be severe in such cases and retribution is necessary, but the vicious blood circle of crime and execussion must stop everywhere in the world. It doesn't even deter crime and this has been proved by the statistics. Killing in cold blood by the state (execussion) is also MURDER .

  • @MrLizardisle My idea was bad and without thought. Under a corrupt government, that kind of slave trade could lead to people being falsely convicted to increase commodity. But the problem with long sentences is that we have to pay money for their incarceration. There's no human underpopulation problem, so using resources to keep certain scum alive seems like such a waste. No idea what to do about it though.

  • @gigantibyte i think that it would be best if the convicted did useful work in the places of their detention. this way they would pay for their living and at the same time they 'd compensate society for the harm they caused. i don't know the budget for prisoners in the usa but if a goverment wants to save money i think that other meassures like for instance taxing the churches, can be used.

  • @gigantibyte But they are potentially dangerous for public. What if murderer escapes from prison. He can kill again.

  • @gigantibyte sounds like a good idea to me

  • @gigantibyte sounds like a good idea to me. Death seems like the easy way out.

  • @gigantibyte No Death by slow hanging

  • @gigantibyte CLAP CLAP CLAP. ok but what if the rapist/ murdering criminal escapes from prison what will happen then. mmmm let me see law enforcment is most likly going to gun him/ her down. or what about if the immate refuses to repay his debt to society. we can't make somebody be a slave in today's world. what laws do you want put in place for these kind of people??? what kind of discipline you want done to these kind of people if they refuse to work and repay there debt. have a plan first

  • @medicalterrylove2 If you read all the comments, you'll see I already retracted my original post. Not my fault my first one was thumbed up. But to answer your first question hypothetically - an exploding collar perhaps, like in Fallout 3? 2nd question - death for those who don't comply perhaps? If I was on death row, I'd probably jump at the chance to be a slave.

  • @gigantibyte . so that means making hard core criminals slaves will not work. the death sentenced should stay. what if one day a prisoner once to kill them selves all they are going to do is stop working and paying there debt to society and boom there gone ( refering to your comment)

  • @gigantibyte Then we would be no better than them.

  • how long does it take ? 10 minutes?

  • Yea compared to the hours of torture that the victim went through, They just gave him the pussy way out

  • @NB5BHVL what he did was illegal and he got convicted for it, what Ohio did wasn't (under the state constitution). that's the difference.

  • An Eye for an Eye,Death for a Death,Tooth for a Tooth, You kill me you deserve to die, As for anyone, I don't care who you are, Sorry buddy ! Thats the laws of the land "fuck the state constitutions" <----And thats my quote for the day

  • Actually the "eye for an eye" originated in the Torah and referred to monetary compensation (it was a metaphor).

bit . ly / 6hxnN2 (wikipedia: Eye for an eye: Lex talionis in Judaism)

  • looks like hitler

  • wrong person IMO the real evil still is living

  • WOW, people love to murder people. You got blood on your animals Ohio

  • He looks like Hitler.

  • I do see the resemblance.

  • god loves a murder...

  • he sure does make killer genes

  • Death Penalty - Get out of jail free card. Brain no longer functions = no pain, no suffering, nothing

  • Why are we trying to make it less painful?

These murderers did not care how much their victims suffered in pain before they died.

The way these murderers killed their victims is the same way we should killing too.

  • WELL SAID!!!!!!!!!!

    ~Rage

  • I'll agree to that.

  • No doubt, I just don't get either. Make it fucking brutal and bloody to kill the innocent. Like the end of Braveheart tear their ass up. That will make others think before they kill a child.

  • Just don't do it like they use to any more, Bet if they put out more public executions like the dark ages did then they might have alot less crime,

  • For sure make bloody and painful public display.

  • thats what im trying to understand.....ppl should be killed the way they killed ppl....

  • The rest of us are supposed to aim a little higher than to reiterate the actions of a sociopathic sicko, not to mention the potential training costs for executioners in a direct-reciprocity scheme. Personally, i'm down with proper hanging or beheading for their efficiency and low overhead.

  • I mean painful execution is a deterrent.

The last thing we want to give Psychos is a nice and peaceful end.

They pretty much have nothing to worry about waiting for their death. Hell they could fall asleep.

  • It does smack more of euthanasia than justice, that's for sure... ...and as far as it being a deterrent it wouldn't matter if it was a low-volt electric chair that took hours to cook as long as it's behind the curtain. Bring back the public option. 'Course, what really deters a sicko?

  • @BobForehead "what really deters a sicko" Nothing really, studies have shown that time and time again.

    "...low-volt electric chair..."

The 8th Amendment hasn't been repealed.

    "Bring back the public option."

Actually it's sort of a single payer system. Every time a state kills someone it comes straight from income tax.

  • 'zactly. although there's no state income tax here in Washington.... maybe that's why we don't execute much. Have to save up or get a loan or something.

  • (obviously in WA it comes from different taxes when you actually do execute people)

...but WA has abolished it three times historically (once by SCOTUS), but there have been 4 post-Furman v. Georgia executions, most recently in 2001.

There was gonna be an execution at the end of last year but the courts stopped it.

  • yeah, i had to look it up, since i thought we had abolished it but remembered Ridgeway was supposed to be up for capital and couldn't recall what exactly happened... Typical WA, really. WishyWashington. Thanks for inciting me look it up though.

  • Oh my god !!! Did you actually say something I fucking agree with.....Holy shit, I need to check my toilet I think I just shit out a gold brick

  • wow.

I guess the end of times are near.

  • Give them what they gave to the victim BUT! Put it on a public display and let everyone join in who ever wants to join in on the torture that they gave to the victim and maybe when people see this display, those people (the future criminals) would take notice and think twice about committing the crime, Take it back to like it was in dark ages
