This movie is going to be really damn good. This movie reminds me of Gladiator from 10 years ago but with Russel Crowe using arrows. It's exciting that Ridley Scott is sharing his vision of the film. This will be the second film in my opinion, that will reveal the true story of an iconic character just like Christopher Nolan did with Batman with Batman Beings. Nolan and Scott are pure geniuses.

Seen it, and it was sorta lame. It had some cool moments, but was not Robin Hood. Call it "Robin Hood Begins", or something.

And I get that it isn't Gladiator 2. The action is nowhere near as awesome, nor is the story as... fulfilling.

It was neither cool enough nor even a Robin Hood story. It was a "Random guy doing boring things against a backdrop of medieval politics. Oh, and that guy becomes Robin Hood, but will do no Robin Hood things" movie.

TL;DR Too much Robin, not enough Hood.

This isn't the Errol Flynn version, This isn't "Men In Tights' or Costner's version. This is Ridley Scott's version, the version of a director with a knighthood who probably knows the stories of Robin Hood by heart a lot better than we do in America. His Robin isn't a charming, jolly swashbuckler of an outlaw. He is a real man. This isn't Gladiator 2, either, Why don't you guys go and watch the movie, first, then criticize it. I personally think it's gonna be Russell's best since Gladiator.

Mmph. What the hell is wrong with just doing a Robin Hood movie about Robin Hood? Why do they have to remake it and retell it every time? We haven't had an adaptation with even passing similarity to most of the myths since the Errol Flynn edition. Everything since has been obsessed with trying to make it "new" and "relevant".
