  • You hear me: Best american act since Elvis Presley and Fats Domino.

  • Great band,

  • Comment removed

  • i wish the sync was better on thsi but i'm glad it is here.

  • wow..... thanks!

  • Must have missed this band in my SST-inluenced early 80's period but they seemed a rather quirky ensemble with a DEVO-ish sound/look...

  • In response to REM quieries in my Opinion REM sound incredibly similar in the old days IRS years Im only 21 but all my favourite music came out of the states (except the beetles, the stones, the cure) in the late 70s early 80s pixies nirvana REM. Why cant americans all just make music instead of War... haha.

In my opinion the only decent music at the moment comesout of the UK (mumford and sons is a recent example) barring Jack White.

  • Like it a lot, from here Portugal, try BAN (Dias Atlanticos, Mundo de Aventuras or PA ra ra), it´s also f... good!

  • Like this a lot.

  • is this performance at Maxwell's in Hoboken NJ?

  • Only discovered Feelies for the first time.Listened to 3 of their albums.

All excellent. But why did they bother doing covers. Their own songs are so strong.

    Great rock band!

  • Seems like just yesterday and it here it is again today. Thanks for posting this.

  • There were never any good old days. They are today, they are tomorrow. It's a stupid thing we say, cursing tomorrow with sorrow.

  • please play england, atp ny i will see you guys there, wrong album tho.

  • can anybody tell me about this band? They sound extremely good, but wikipedia fails to tell me anything i'd like to know about the band.

  • Crazy Rhythms is one of R.E.M.'s major influences.

  • i can never hear it in their music.

  • nobody else thinks that they started to have more of an r.e.m. sound after their first album?

and no one else thinks that crazy rhythms was their greatest release?

    i guess the cheese stands.

  • @onoplastic

Peter Buck produced their second album, so it stands to reason.

  • straight outta NJ , The Feelies are largely the guitarist/songwritters Glenn Mercer and Bill Million. this video is the band from the 1st album playing the title track. the band is Glenn Mercer (guitar), Bill Million (guitar),Keith Clayton (bass) and Anton Fier (drums). the band broke up abruptly and it seems to me that only Fier really continued with a career though The Feelies have reformed for reunions and one-offs

  • THE FEELIES!

  • The good old days when music mattered, not this record industry garbage you hear on the radio! F_ _ K music videos! That when the problem started!! ROCK ON!!!!

  • Gee, I didn't realize the Feelies sold so many records and were all over the radio.

  • that isnt what he is saying. hes saying that this is good and what we hear now is shit.

  • Which is a dumb statement to make, but that's not the point. My point was that the Feelies, while great, were pretty irrelevant. Most people ignored them then as they would now, nothing has changed. There are no "good old days".

  • you do have to agree that music industry has changed from how it was say...20 years ago?

  • Sure, in a lot of ways. Some for the better. For example, the Feelies would have a much easier time finding an audience and getting an independent record deal today than in their time.

  • Ooooh, so much fun, them Feelies.

  • i bought their first lp when it came out, great to see this footage despite the picture quality!.Peter

  • Even through crappy quality video The Fleelies awesomeness shines.

  • The Band "The Feelies" was recorded and taped at CBGBs in the early 80's by Paul Tschinkel for his cable show Paul Tschinkel's Inner Tube. It was an exciting show and a better version will be posted for fans. Visit Paul Tschinkel on Youtube for more. See Ya there. PT

  • They are coming back with sonic Youth ;-)

  • This band played Hurrah's a disco-club around 70th and Broadway. Hurrah's had TVs all over the place which played the bands - the start of MTV?

  • What's with the "Unknown Pleasures" image that appears on the screen at the start? Spoooooky.

  • seems like a picture from some joy division performance, there's a Unknown pleasures album cover.

  • This f'in rocks. I love their guitar interplay.

  • when/where was this recorded? Is that anton fier on drums, yes? I saw them a few times during this period.

  • This video was recorded at CBGB's in the summer of 1979. Anton Fier > Drums, Charles Beasley > Percussion, Keith DeNunzio > Bass, Glenn and Bill > Vocals and Guitars
