Thank you!!!! i feel so dirty when i use computers traditions all the way its more you in it when you take the time to do it by hand <3 you feel so acomplished!!
You know what? Making a comic is probably one of the most time- consuming and maddening things for me. Each panel needs to be drawn perfectly, and that's something I don't have the patience for.
its incredible how loose you pencils are, i cant ink black areas without penciling where i want the shadows (very tight, very controlled) but you just jump in and it jus blows me away, your incredible, do you have any work i can pic up from a book store that you would suggest i should check out?
Good work, Dough! We love your Ghostoplis and we look for ward for the Disney movie. Actually, your last websinar about Manga Studio EX in March 2011 is what made us buy that great software and switch from traditional to digital inking ;-)
I loved Ratfist and Earthworm Jim. Then I found out about your political and religious beliefs. And then I read the blogs you contribute to Big Hollywood. Now you make me sad.
your messed up. hell doesn't exist, the only bad thing about keeping the lights on is because of the electricity used up and it damages the environment and you have to pay extra
@wohoSG You have to practice a lot longer than 1 year to be good. Of course, It all just depends on what you think is "Good". If I thought that someone was my idol it doesn't mean that you think he's good. Practice all the time and eventually you'll be quite satisfied with your work.
wait, is your book sold at comic stores, or do you just make them and never publish, because you look and sound like a very good artist/writer/inker/etc
inspiring sir. I make home made comics, never good at computers, so I've been using colored pencils. I felt also more complete working my ass off coloring then watching people digitally do it in a day or something. One question I have, what paper are you using right now to ink on?
Fuck yeah! I saw that as a little kid, have no idea if it's good or not.
Oh and I read Creature Tech and loved it but I had no idea who Doug Tennaple was, now I have to read all his stuff. Amazing artist, I learned a lot about inking from that book
I suck at inking BUT i work on getting batter at it. I use to be just a pens guy Coz I am more of a penciler then any thing els BUT now its 95% brush and 5% pens for me. BUT i steal suck at inking AND you gave some good tips. I knew about some of the stuff BUT you shown me some new stuff i could do SO i have to say thank you. 5/5 man.
Cool video enjoyed it thoroughly. And remember turn off the lights, conserve energy - so there's resources left for using a gallon of water to clean a #3 brush.
He he yeah, that wouldn't leave me for four weeks, but I got used to it.
I can get past that, because I absolutely what Doug says in this video, perhaps it's his best interview yet.
PS, if anybody knows of Street Trash, did you know the director is a camera man? He's still doing work to this day, including the camera's for Chronicles of Riddick, and Sneakers.
This is so great! Thanks for posting this. I loved being able to watch Doug ink close-up in real time. Really great being able to see how big the actual panels and paper are that he works on, too.
bristol board is that similar to poster board by chance?
srry if its a stupid question but ive never been able to tell the difference
