I was watching this on the Sean Hannity show while I was flicking between CNN and MSNBC and it becomes more noticeable how the three networks differ in their political leanings the more I compare the three. This particular segment must have been repeated 3 or 4 times over Thursday evening, and these two (Rush and Shawn) are right wing extremists. While I can see the point theyr'e making regarding a state run media but there will always be guys like Ruppert Murdoch.
Of course I do, he's Austrailian. But he still OWNS Fox News and the government doesn't. Now, IF, for example, the Chineese bought out Murdoch, THEN I might have a problem with that. Regardless, however, every news organization has a political leaning and in all my years of being a news junkie, I have yet to find an outlet that is truly "fair and balanced".
As long as I will be able to get a fresh, independently published newspaper every day, I can do without the opinions expressed by the talking heads on cable. However if, God forbid, the day comes when this nations' news outlets fall into government control, I hope Il'l be pushing up daiseys.
That's arguable, but Murdoch owns a lot of other stuff too, like the New Your Post for example. Just because someone is UNamerican doesn't mean theyr'e ANTIamerican also.
"i dont read" the new york post so i cant give my opinion on its content. i am however familiar with the wall street journal. it was a conservative publication before HE WHO SHALE NOT BE NAMED (from here on known as HWSNBN lol) acquired it. i would submit to u that now it has radically and abruptly moved to the far right as a result, i believe of HWSNBN influence, as evidenced by its plummeting subscriber base. America at large is not interested in "the conservative (neocon) movement".
I'm afraid that "America at large" is too preoccupied with crap like American Idol and other trashy "reality" shows to know the difference between the true definitions of conservative and liberal. I am an honorably discharged veteran of the armed forced of the United States, have been through two combat tours in Viet Nam and have been following the news since the Korean War, so I think I can say that Iv'e never seen the amount of amblivilance before towards current events as exists today.
BTW, a good example of the preoccupation I refer to that the American viewing audience has can be found when one goes to the "most viewed" on HULU. It's mostly crap from Comedy Central!
