Only the entry level models are made in Taiwan. Did you know Italy has over 60 different cycle frame manufacturers alone! Ernesto could happily choose from the 60 or more Italian frame builders if he so wished! Ernesto doesn't need Taiwan!

I dont have a problem with REAL italian frames. If I had the money I`d buy a Legend Marathon or a Viner Maxima. As far as non-custom frames go, I can buy a taiwanese Storck Scenario for half the price of a colnago CX1.
I have nothing against taiwanese frames, but when companies like colnago trade on their history, customers must bear in mind that much of the expertise is taiwanese

@dieterlino Yes, you make a valid point, but Italy (Roman Empire) has ruled and conquered already in the past and doesnt need to prove itself to be a great nation again, by reverting back to colonizing and expanding. Italy has moved on, it's a highly sophisticated and advanced nation (e.g first motorway network in Europe, top exporter of food & wine, cars, vans, trucks, coffee machines, cycles etc etc...........) Italy can prove it's greatness by it's economy & top quality exports.
