@theorganguy whoa! before you disconnect the trap, try stabbing the clog with the zip-it tool I use. you can insert it into the drain in the tub from above. That may do the trick.
@jimmykinkade been there, done that... problem is, there was no pre-filter and the plumbing is making a few turns... I'm even pondering, if the zip-it is getting bend up into the overflow-pipe instead of down...

@theorganguy hair usually clings tenaciously to the mechanical parts of the bathtub drain. (That's why I snip it before I zip-it.) for that reason, liquid plumber doesn't always work.

my place has an access panel for the trap... but the trap has no clean-out! *sigh* guess I'll have to undo the whole trap...
