I love all forms of art...movies, music, plays, and actual art. I also love sports. What if I go to the art gallery and most of the art was done by kids in the 1st grade(ya know the pics your kids bring you from school to put on the fridge.) (CONT) I heard thus far. Lupe and a lot of Underground artist are trying to get a hit.. but all you hear on the radio is.. well... uninspired music.. and then there's Wayne. I mean.. I like his zany metaphors, but they play his music A LITTLE TOO MUCH. Freddiemac82, you know Gemstones and Lupe right? they might be the saviors of Hip-Hop.
BTW I know Lupe's famous.. but he's not getting enough attention. That's my opinion.

I feel you on this one... If people don't like what's happening with Hip-Hop nowadays don't go mainstream and listen to what they think is good music.
Soulja Boy was once homeless before he blew up off the "Crank That" phenomenom..
But what I think.. It's disappointing that all these talented rappers are busting their ass trying to make a name for themselves and people like Soulja Boy puts out mindless music and makes millions! For example.. Lupe Fiasco.. he's pretty much the BEST DAMN RAPPER

i am one that says hip hop is dead and the reason no one made a big deal out of chichen soup is because rap was on the down slide and knowbvody realized it sucked because there was still good rap songs.and u said raped started from dance moves so why is everybody haten on soulja is because it dose not ryme and sounds like crap like mc hammer that was some tight shit it sounded good and rymed anyway hallaback

You have good points but in my opinion its just really fucked up that theres many much more talented artists out there that arent recognized because people arent given a chance to recognize that side of hip-hop and rap. That's the other problem too. People think that when heads say "real Hip Hop" they mean "making their music sound like back in the day and talkin scientifical"... no... REAL Hip Hop music is about making music with meaning to it, that's unique, different and has SOUL in it (whether it makes you cry, mad, think or dance)... not some kid exploiting the music for a quick buck. Real Hip Hop: Outkast, Ludacris, Nas, Jay-Z, Snoop, Ice Cube... the list goes on. All had a variety and had heart.

But it isn't necessarily about WHAT you talk about, but HOW you do your artistry. Souljah Boi is just a biproduct of what the industry wants to make money out of, and as a young cat, he follows suit. It'd be hard no to in his position. There's no talent involved in making the music Souljah Boi makes... 10,000 other people can do what he does. Its hard to do what Ludacris does cuz he worked on his skills and art. Same with Bun B. SB's music is very cookie cutter.
