Gandhi was nominated in 1937, 1938, 1939, 1947 for Nobel Peace prize but he was not considered worthy of given a prize to him because he was a racist man and supporter of Hitler ideology. He considered Dalits as third class citizens of India and was openly against the black in South Africa.
