  • If any person was left out and didn't get a share of our natural resources or our economic resources because there weren't enough to go arond (jobs, etc), then YOUR money and MY money came to us because someone else got left out. Therefore, is it really MY money or YOUR money? Do we have no obligations to share our scarce resources, or should we just kill the ones that get left out? As I said, socialism breeds people who think of these things. Market system breeds barbarians, selfishness, greed.

  • New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson abandoned his nomination to become commerce secretary under pressure of a grand jury investigation into a state contract awarded to his political donors

    typical democrat

  • debsaypie : no he didn't lol why do you think hes so popular

  • Richardson is certainly my favorite of the running candidates (Gore would be #1). I like his experience, I like that he is a WESTERN governor. Clinton, OBama, and Edwards lack both foreign and especially working executive experience. I will likely support whoever comes out of from the Democratic party, but I'm worried that we are going to get someone lacking experience. I do wish Richardson projected more charisma, which in my mind is his weakest issue.

Thank you Moveon for the posting.

  • Richardson raised taxes in NM for the middle income and lowered taxes for the rich...just like Bush! He supports a health plan that protects insurance companies-not people...shameful! He refuses to help the support staff at UNM hospital... 40% of those hard working employees qualify for medicaid. Nearly 50% are hispanic! More shameful behavior! They deserve better! They deserve a living wage! Do the right thing. It's not too late!

  • I really hope Richardson becomes the presidential candidate. He can defeat EVERY republican candidate. That's why they are so afraid of him. He's the man.

  • I think that internationally, and his past embassador status he is great, but he tends to be more republican than democratic... He could beat any republican that's has been in the running, but based on his views he's mainly a republican deep down... My problem with this would be, what's the differance than what we have now?? And if he runs in four years, we need to really look into this... just a though

  • yeah, I supported Iraqi freedom at first, and the capture of Saddam, the civilian gasser, but I think its time for the troops to come home now.

  • The troops need to be re-deployed IMMEDIATELY so that the mass slaughter of Iraqi civilians can begin!

  • shut up...you and Eli....you whining queers..you would lay down and weep like little girls if you had to deal with 911...just pull out? you both are stupid f#@#s.

  • Folks lining up behind Bill Richardson might want to take a hard look at: breakthegrip dot org. Then, once you've taken a hard look - do your own research and see if you're still comfortable with him.

  • This guy has some foriegn policy experience. I like that. Please view searchword wilburjr-thanks.

  • DEMOCRAT-PROGRESSIVE TRUCE FOR 2008:

    RALPH NADER FOR ATTORNEY GENERAL

How many of the Democratic candidates are willing to appoint and support Ralph Nader as Attorney General of the United States?

We would be guaranteed a full investigation into Iraq, Halliburton, wiretapping, healthcare/banking industries, and the current mess in the Justice Dept under Gonzales.

Can't we all agree on this? Nader for AG!

  • we don't need your excuses, we need leaders who care about us not the corporate leeches and war mongering idiots who put price tags on the feet of our dead soldiers that give up their lives for the honest citizens who thought they sent them to a just war when it wasn't.

  • Bush is only proof that if Americans aren't careful they can (s)elect total dumbasses to the detriment of the whole world. i hope he rots in hell.

  • hey stupid, he doesn't support Bush and you know it. terrorists love Bush!

  • you sound like a little girl whaa :-(

people like you won't have the chance to suck any more life out of the USA in another 540 days or so. nobody is pro-terrorist you idiot. what are you trying to do scare us?

  • shut up senile moron, Bush is an moron.

  • shut up senile idiot, Bush is another idiot.

  • shut up dork, Bush is an idiot. terrorists think they are going to heaven fighting the infadels DUH! they are not affected by hell and will continue to fight no matter how many we kill. They have children that allready know the Koran by heart. Especially the fatwah part.

  • This guy is a joke. Have you been to New Mexico? It's all fucked up. This guys a limp dick for sure. All these democratic candidates are ball suckers.

  • yeah you think so? is that why most people will vote most dumb righties out. Bill has more experience, common sense, and gumption in his little finger than all the republican candidates rolled into one.. .stinky old carpet.

  • bill, my family is broken , but it was my choice I AM A LEGAL IMMIGRANT FROM SOUTH AMERICA !!!!!!! THE LEGAL IMMIGRANTS CRY OUT FOR REPRESENTATION , BUT WE DO NOT HAVE A LEADER THAT WILL DO THAT , NO A SI NO SE PUEDE , SENOR

  • you sow death, you reap death.

  • He is the best chance for America, bilingual, multicultural man, negotiator, pro family, experienced, good international view...what else needs America?

  • LOL! The three religious groups? The Shia, Sunni and the Kurds? What an experienced diplomat! The Kurds is not a religious group. It is an ethnic minority group. The Kurds are not Arabs. The Iranians are not Arabs. But the warring Shias and Sunnis in Iraq are indeed ethnic Arab tribes. LOL!

  • This is a viable candidate... He has none of the youthful exiting viability of Obama, yet he has the experience! I lived in NM and am moving back there, soon, but he knows foreign relations! Richardson is honest and experienced! and h is not golfing with Bush SR, which cannot be said of Clinton's husband! If you vote for Hillary, you vote for bush!

  • This is the man I will send money to. This is the one who makes sense. Bill Richardson is a negotiator and he has done the hard negotiations. This is what is needed. I like what he did with his own state in exceeding Kyoto.

  • None of the other democratic candidates seems to have the clear vision and a conscise plan on where to take our country after the mess the Bush administration has created as Richardson does. You don't get nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize as many times as he has by being stupid and not thinking things through.

  • I believe Richardson is our best chance as a Democratic candidate if we hope to get the Republicans out of office next time around (do we want McCain in office?). The conservative republicans who voted Bush into office for two terms are not going to vote for Hillary or Barack Obama (the two who are getting the most press).

  • Kucinich or Ron Paul!!!

The only two 2 take US HOME!!!

  • Bill Richardson is great. He has the best experience of all the candidates and a clear position on Iraq.

  • google sreach canidate Mike Gravel he is great man

  • Very well spoken, intelligent and has foreign policy experience! Go Richardson.

  • I truly believe in him..Let's Vote for this GUY !

  • Grass roots. Get the word out. Richardson is the real deal.

  • Bill Richardson is the best Presidential candidate from ANY PARTY. He has the most foreign and security policy experience; worked across party lines to lead NM in clean energy, cut taxes and preserved individual freedoms while increasing security. I am amazed that a candidate with such massive experience has received very little media attention. Bill Richardson is the forward thinking, thoughtful, balanced leader we, even the world, needs today. Vote for Bill Richardson & improve the world!

  • Richardson is easily the best candidate. Also the most ELECTABLE candidate in the Democratic field by far. His political skills are excellent, and most importantly, he is the only one in the race that the Republicans fear. He is in a great position right now, with three unelectable senators leading in the meaningless early polls. The Dems would be insane if they didn't nominate him.

  • It's going to take all of us to get him elected. It's time not only to say no to big corporations having power - but also corporate sized candidates! Let's make this the election where money doesn't matter half as much as it used to!

  • In my opinion,Richardson did the best.Obama was also impressive.I still wish Gore was an option.

  • See, here's another guy I knew nothing about. He certainly brings a wealth of experience to the race. You never know who's going to suddenly get attention, and I wouldn't mind if Richardson did. I'm keeping my eye on Richardson. Of course that's what I said about Biden, and I haven't heard some of the others yet. It's still too early for me to throw in with any one candidate. Of course, if Al Gore jumps in...

  • I have been impressed with Governor Richardson for several years now. He has the most relevant experience and the intellectual capacity to make a superior president. He has knowledge and ideas along with his experience. Sorry guys, but he makes all the others look like chopped liver.

  • It was kucinich's segment that impressed me most

  • man, he is not good. i would rather have an ostrich as prez

  • What I liked about Richardson, besides everything else that's being commented about above, was that he also brought other issues into the debate. Yes, Iraq is horrible and needs to be resolved, but our country is falling apart in many important places. I like that he mentioned these.

My votes are for (I can't decide and so just random order):

Kucinich, Obama, Richardson. I'd be happy with any of these in Pres/VP arrangements. I kind of like Obama as VP to Richardson.

  • i BELIEVE GOV. RICHARDSON HAD THE MOST GOOD IDEAS, FOR WHAT TO DO NOW AND HOW TO HANDLE THE WAR. hE ALSO HAS THE MOST EXPERIENCE IN DIPLOMACY WHICH WE SORELY NEED AND HE HAS MORE EXPERIENCE BOTH FOREIGN POLICY, ENERGY AND IN GOVERNMNACE, AFTER HEARING WHAT HE HAS TO SAY I BELIEVE HE WOULD MAKE THE BEST PRESIDENT AND HE IS ALSO MODEST BUT CONFIDENT IS HIS ABILITIES

  • he made great strides with North Korea today

  • First off, calling them "bad guys" is mistake #1. I'd like to move pass the days of categorizing entire nations as "evil" or "bad." Going so far as passing away from labeling entire governments as "bad." Within each nation there are complex divisions and cultures as diverse as ours. To ignore good aspects of certain systems by simply calling them "bad guys" is not only shallow but unoriginal. However, I DO believe he has a good resume and some fairly clear approaches and ideas with handling Iraq

  • Gov Richardson while U.N. Ambassador agreed that about 25,000 Iraqis, mostly children, were dying every month because of the Clinton administration refusal to allow chlorine importation to sterilize water. When asked if the death of 300,000 Iraqis each year because of lack of any clean water was worth it, he replied "Yes!" THis makes Governor Richardson guilty of crimes agains humanity. Two heads of the U.N. Oil for Food program resigned while he was Ambassador accusing him of genocide.

  • Just so everyone who reads hershchopra654's comment knows--this user signed in a week ago, and to date HAS NOT VIEWED ANY CLIPS, which means he/she did not listen to what Richardson has to say, and simply showed up to discredit him.

  • I don't know how to check what clips someone has viewed, but I do know that hershchopra654 could have watched the entire presentation live (as I did for example) and am now here studying and responding to comments. Remembering our part in creating the mess in Iraq before our outright invasion is certainly a valid point. Our continuing policy of "punishing" the people of our neighbors on the planet by placing sanctions against governments we don't like needs to be curtailed. Food not bombs!!

  • I believe you are confusing Richardson with Madeleine Albright.

  • Bill Richardson has an impressive resume--congressman, secretary of energy, UN ambassador, governor,four-time nominee for the Nobel Peace Prize; What other candidate has his experience? America needs this person at the helm. Most of America doesn't know how qualified he is for the job. Let's get creative.

  • Man, I agree on all of his views, Why have people not been more informed of him. I'm for Dennis, but He gets my 2nd vote.

  • I agree with everything that is being said here... given a free choice I would choose Richardson! Too bad that Americans are too stupid to choose the best man/woman for the job... Bush twice proves my point!!!

  • Highly impressed by Richardson's intelligent responses. With an excellent resume Richardson brings well needed skills to the table. He has the great and lost skill of American diplomacy, cultural sensitivity, and offers definitive plans regarding the exit of troops in Iraq and a holistic plan for Iraq restructing. Now we just need more Americans to be made aware of this excellent candidate!

  • I do not like the way that he says that he will get the three parties in Iraq in a room and TELL them that they need to divide their country. That is arrogant and I think that he does not have an attitude that understands that Iraq is a country that does not belong to us, despite this occupation.

  • The Shiites and Sunnis are acting like children throwing a temper tantrum, armed by US taxpayers. We need someone bold enough to go there and tell them what to do. Failing a three way division, I think America should back a free Kurdistan. Let the others have their civil war if they choose that futile route, but I think Richardson has the confidence to go there and tell them it's time to get real, because we are getting out.

  • The Shitites and Sunnis did not ask this country to invade their country. The problem with this country is the hubris of our going in there, invading, disabling, destroying, and being surprised it didn't go our way. The worst thing people in this country has done is the ignorance of this country to understand the cultural differences before we invaded. Somebody needs to say that the Iraqi people are in charge of their own destiny. It is not our call.

  • I agree--while I was impressed by most of Gov. Richardson's words, this stance that the people of Iraq should be told how to run their country sounded arrogant and presumptuous. I can only hope he didn't actually mean it in as demeaning a way as it came across.

  • I think Biden had the best, most diplomatic solution in terms of what to do about the future political situation of Iraq. It clearly stemmed from the deepest understanding of the region and its specific political and religious circumstances.

  • Absolutely brilliant and well thought out responses! Obviously he knows international affairs and would be fair in dealing with the Iraq's oil resources. The NEOCONS will make race a factor and the evil right wing media will do everything possible to destroy him ...if they think he has a chance. He would be an awesome president given the opportunity!

  • His recommendation to deauthorize the Iraq War via the War Powers Act makes much better sense than the resolutions being passed by the House and Senate. Defunding gives Bush (and by extension, Republicans) "they're endangering the troops!" ammo, whereas deauthorizing sends an incredibly strong message that enough is enough. Good luck, Governor!

  • I voted for Bill Richardson for Governor when I lived in New Mexico. He has greatly improved the state. Of all the candidates here, he has the most wide range experience. I think his greatest attribute is his ability to negotiate. I would love to see him as president. When he speaks he doesn't beat around the bush.

  • Re: the open borders comment, Richardson has worked with Mexico's regional governors, passed emergency legislation, and requested money for more border patrols, surveillance, and a jobs program. He is clearly an experienced candidate in national security and foreign policy, and his priorities are right on: nuclear containment, clean energy alternatives, education, and health care. He also is one of only two candidates to put forth concrete ideas for ensuring a stable Iraq after we pull out.

  • This guy has the experience it will take to make an OUTSTANDING president. 15 Years in congress, he server under Clinton as the Secretary of Energy, was UN ambassador, 4 Nobel Peace Prize nominations, and is a Governor. He obviously has a firm background in foreign policy as well as experience governing. He put together a wonderful exit strategy for Iraq. I would say he is the all-star of the bunch, but he has been overlooked. Give this guy some more recognition, I think he's the one.

  • He speaks with knowledge and in a calm manner. He appears very sincere and self confident. I am very impressed.Lets hope and pray that money is not the single determinent in this Presidential race!

  • I really liked what he had to say. I was for Obama because I didn't like Hillary, but over the last two weeks have realized he doesn't have enough experience yet. Richardson had very smart comments today which only improved what I thought of him. He's got the most experience (Ambassador to the UN) and is very supportive of setting up negotiations to allow the Iraqi people determine their own future.

  • I've been reading his book and I have been so impressed with his negotiations and foreign policy successes in the past and that he already has relationships with the bad guys (Iraq, North Korea, Iran, and Cuba) and would be the most productive of the Democratic Candidates in creating peace in these troubled regions.

  • Richardson has that elusive quality of compassion, a rare commodity in politics. A true man of the people.

  • I can tell he has more foreign policy experience than the others. He can also appeal to independent voters. We need him at the top of our ticket.

  • This guy is an open borders guy so he will have no chance with me.

  • Not true. Richardson has worked with Mexico's regional governors, passed emergency legislation, and requested money for more border patrols, surveillance, and a jobs program. He is clearly an experienced candidate in national security and international diplomacy, and his priorities are right on: nuclear containment, clean energy alternatives, education, and health care. He also is one of only two candidates to put forth concrete ideas for ensuring a stable Iraq after we pull out.

  • Richardson has been very active on border security, meeting with Mexican regional governors, enacting emergency funds, requesting Federal money for more patrols, surveillance, and a jobs program. The problem is not with Richardson, but with Mexico's federal government turning a blind eye and letting us pick up the tab while Bush is happy to accomodate.

  • Richardson declared a state of emergency on New Mexico's border to crack down on illegal activity and protect our citizens. Do your homework before posting from ignorance.

  • Ok thanks for ter clear up guys. I must have mistook him for someone else.

  • I didn't know anything about Richardson before, but I was definitely impressed. He and Joe Biden were the only ones to say that we need to focus on a political settlement for Iraq after pulling troops out. Pulling troops out is the easy bit! Stopping Iraq from falling into chaos afterwards is the hard part.

I was also impressed by his foreign policy experience and his interesting idea for a Congressional vote to deauthorize the war instead of fighting over funding.

  • I will vote for this guy I liked what he had to say tonight!

  • I am so glad that I got to listen to this man. I think that he makes the most sense. He was certainly impressed me.

  • HELP SPREAD THIS VIDEO -- to help it climb the YouTube ratings and be seen by others: give it 5 stars, make it a favorite, comment, and forward to friends!

  • Thank you MoveOn. Good Job. End the war by taking it to the supreme court? What an idea. A 50-50 chance? I think the congress has the power to end the war and we need to let our congressmen know we expect them to do it. Keep writing letters to your congressment keep the pressure on!

  • Richardson's a lot stronger than I thought. I'm still backing Edwards, with Obama second, but good to hear another strong voice in there...and he does have a lot of experience
